Growing up, I was a huge fan of rock music. I’d listen to bands like Slipknot all day, every day. But as I grew older, my taste changed. I started listening to bands like Green Day. That was until I discovered my passion for EDM. MainStage progressive house to be precise. Do you… see where I’m going with this? Good. Because today we’re making a MainStage anthem that combines mainstream rock and dance music!
Has it been done before? Well, kind of. Bands like Eskimo Callboy have done it before, but they lean heavily towards the rock side of things. Some edm artists have done it too, illinium for example. But in this case, he leans more towards EDM.
So I tried to keep the perfect balance between the two best genres, and here is what I came up with.
First of all, the idea. We live in a world where everything screams “Look at me!”, “do it like this!”, “live like this!”. And it can get very overwhelming, and living your life like you were told to… well, it’s a recipe for disaster. And I’ve been there! Being someone I wasn’t left me depressed and lost, and I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s been through something like this. And this is what I wanna talk about in the song.
This song is a combination of Mainstage Progressive House (think illenium or Martin Garrix) and Pop Rock (think about Green Day).
Who's Martin Garrix?

Who's Green Day?
Green Day is an American rock band formed in Rodeo, California in 1987 by lead vocalist and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong and bassist and backing vocalist Mike Dirnt, with drummer Tré Cool joining in 1990.
