Summary: Aaron feels guilty and resentful when Hazel has a dig at him for forgetting Jackson so quickly. Jackson tells Gerry that he doesn't think moving in with him would work.

Here's an idea writers:
Aaron (confronting Hazel): "Look, I know you love your son and you're doing what is best for him."
Hazel: "Well, you not really helping matters, are you?"
Aaron: "He told me to stay away, remember?"
Hazel: "You don't really believe that, do you?"
Aaron: "I believe it because he's the most honest mate I know, and until he tells me differently - I am going to respect his wishes. Look, I lo __ er, like Jackson. But most of all I respect him. He taught me that"
Er... what am I missing? A couple of weeks back, Jackson told Aaron VERY clearly that he never wanted to see him again. Aaron therefore feels rejected and hurt, plus guilty and responsible (which Jackson told him he was). So why doesn't Hazel know about this? Jackson felt strongly: he surely would have told his mother "I don't want to see Aaron" - and Aaron is just as capable of saying "He said he doesn't want to see me again". Yet it seems to be some sort of secret ... so Hazel has no idea.
jarabaa Aaron used that as an excuse to run away.
She thinks that Jackson doesn't know what he wants. She refused to listen to Aaron.

@jodezak I started watching them when I got caught up with Aaron's storyline. Absolutely love it! Tonight's episode isn't up though, so I could only watch this.

@frozenbaby2004 I resent your inference that I have no experience of "sudden tragic circumstances" or have no experience of grieving. It's a bit personal when, after all, we are talking about a fictional character in a soap opera. It's not Aaron's fault he is happiness personified it's the people who wrote the script. Next week he will be asked to demonstrate his total commitment to a life with Jackson. Hey, it only happens in a soap.

I found that storyline painful to watch, and I'm already watching more episodes from soaps than I really have time for. Remember too, if you will that Aaron's self-esteem has been in the dumpster for much of his life, and only began its climb out after Aaron came out and tied himself to Jackson. Not that the bedridden has told him to bugger off, I'm wondering how long until Aaron takes a real fall - he already half-believed that the accident was his fault, and with Jackson tossing him...

@frozenbaby2004 @AlanRM1000 I remember coming home, after school - after choir practice with buds. We had our own little singing group and were coming to my house to practice. I was 14. May 5 - 15 days from my 15th B-Day. Walking in to find my Mom, my sister - her husband, standing in the living room. To be told my dad just had a MASSIVE stroke. I had NO comprehensive or what just happened or what was to come. For 20 years I had to deal with my dad in a wheelchair. I had no clue.
Hazel badgers Aaron all the time but she says nothing to Jackson. She missed the perfect opportunity to pressure him to get down off his stubborn high horse and admit he misses Aaron.
This storyline gets on my nerves!!!
But i love the relationship between Aaron and Paddy. Its more grown up and so much stronger since the accident. Paddy is so much of an father to him. Aaron so deserves that. His life was so bad in the past.😞
@hearditman I don't think it's strange. He's taken to heart what Jackson said. He could have gone two ways - sitting around depressed, or try to get some normalcy in his life. People forget, Jackson told him to leave him alone - not the other way around. He prefaced it that he didn't want to saddle Aaron. He's respecting Jackson's decision - not his. When someone you love tells you to leave them alone no matter HOW MUCH you don't want to, if you love them - you respect them.
@AlanRM1000 I would agree to most of what you said, but I would take exception to justifying that 18 qualifies him understanding "heat of the moment" disclosures. Sure he MIGHT acknowledge, "I said some things I didn't mean" but to truly understand things said in the heat of the moment - he hasn't enough experience to collate the "finer" points of that realization. He's not coming across as callous nor shallow. He's coming across as an 18 year trying to cope with the weight of the world.
It's amazing how chipper and happy go lucky Aaron is, you wouldn't think the love of his life was lying paralysed in the local hospital. Not even any concerned words for Hazel. Love is definitely strange in the Dales.

So good to see Jackson again. I don't know what it is, but he is looking hotter! Is it the hair? I'm ready for Aaron to return to see him. I hate this. But at least they are getting some screenplay! Hope it turns into more. I'm having withdraws and noticing that I'm forcing myself to cope with their absence lately!

@jodezak Thanks. Good suggestion, but ... I'm watching a lot of storylines on You Tube extracted from various soaps, and I don't usually have time for more than what I'm already doing.
Viv was always a difficult person. I was impressed with Hazel's winning her over, at least until recently.

I start to think or realize Hazel is doing a bit too much! And to be honest, i'm kind of getting bored because of her. When Jackson said to his mom, "You don't have to keep me entertained; I'm getting pretty good at being bored" you can tell by his facial expression that he's feeling lonely even his mum is around almost all the time. It's because obviously he's still having a hard time putting things together and i guess he starts to think he doesn't have much to do with his life anymore!!

And I am getting REAL tired of Hazel. I know she's Jackson mum and all, but she needs to stop badgering Aaron directly or with sarcasm. The harder she pushes the more he withdraws. And she, of ALL people should know that. After all, when Aaron found out about Jackson paying Mickey off and stormed out - she told Jackson - "LEAVE HIM." Take your own advice, Hazel.
@hearditman Apparently, you have NO real life experience with sudden tragic circumstances, or - dealing with a grieving processes. There is a state called masking. That combined with an inability to process ones feeling, it can cause a shut down. So yeah, in a very real sense Aaron does have an "off and on" switch. He was told what to do and is doing it. Missing or pining not withstanding - that would be obsessive love. True love is built on trusting and respect.

@jodezak + @frozenbaby2004, well I agree to what you've said frozenbaby and at the same time I agree to what you've said jodezak. It's true that if you care or love someone at a certain level, that you want to do whatever that person tells you do because you think that's whats best for both of you. However, in this situation, we all know that Jackson loves Aaron very much right. He was crying afterwards when he told Aaron to leave before he will cause anymore trouble. He's actually suffering.
@yournewsecretcrush I agree it was good to see Jackson again...and he does look HOTTER. It's kinda funny cuz he's been in the hospital for weeks now but he has a killer TAN!! I think Marc Silcock must have just got back from holiday when this scene was shot lol.
