- Tomsline shaper ASR-3 by far this is the most affordable cabsim pedal within the budget and its features. it's very useful when dealing with various PA systems we would meet on gigs. just choose your favorite cabinet simulation, leave it on and you're good to go.hope you like it

Nice video! You can definitely hear the difference when you turn on and off the pedal. Good job. I own 3 Tomsline pedals already; this video makes want to get another.
thank you 😃
i have this pedal and now live i use it with a small peavey rage 158 teal stripe that has preamp out. newer rage dos not have pre out. light to carry on stage for sure and pretty good sound :)
Nice Review because you showed the difference with the pedal switched on and off and with Clean Sound at beginning of video and also with dirty sound. Many Vids only demo stuff with heavy distortion and there are no #1 hits with that. No money to be made above the 12th fret!
😆😆😆 yes agree.. no money above 12th fret
thanks man
I love this sound of 4x12 of Greenback, V30 get me too as well
Youre very sympathetic and kind from the start, Thank You for that and a good demonstration!!😎😎
thank you! i appreciate that sooo much.. thanks for stopping by😃😃😃
That 1x12 deluxe reverb sounds great!
very helpful video. i should have bought this instead of the Valeton coral cab
Why is that bro? I'm still dont know if i should get this pedal or Valeton Coral Cab. Never test it both my self yet
Nice information.thanks and good job.
thank you 😘😊❤️
Hi! Does it go to the beginning or end of the pedal chain? Very good! Thank you! 😎 🎸 👍
i put it at the end of all pedal.. i treated it as real speaker so i thought 😃
Did you direct or plug it in the send and return of the amp?
great demo. sir, what is the difference between the tomsline shaper and other DI box? which is preferrable in terms of home recording in computer DAW and live performance?
hi 😊 that's a great question.. from my point of view.. this pedal is a fixed EQ loaded with bunch EQ setting, while this is not a DI box ( in some cases, DIboxes come with CABSIM feature) , so i guess we will still need DI box for home recording for the sake of correct guitar signals which go to PC DAW...
on the other case, it is safe enough for live performance (since it's a tone shaper means it's kinda an EQ) , but still, DI box is still needed if we want better guitar signals through PA systems
@@GuitarLearner in terms of performing live, some say that DI box is needed in order not to lose some signal especially the longer the the cable from pedal board to amp or mixer. if that is true, can this tomsline shaper pedal be a substitution of DI box for this instances?
@@GuitarLearner im just beginning to explore pedals and how to's on the right guitar chain
IMO it's not a substitution for DIbox .. if you want to cover signal losses you might need buffer pedal or DIboxes, not this one
even me making these videos is for the sake of my own curiosity in exploring pedals and guitar signal routings 😊😊 hopefully these videos can be a help for everyone 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
So very amazing demo where I can buy it for this?
#amazon is good start to search this stuff
Can I connect the Shaper's output to my combo amp (Fender Champion)? Just curious because the cab sim is supposed to be use when the venue has no amp available.
Say if I connect the shaper to my Fender Champion and set the cab sim to Vox cab will the sound come out like the Vox's sound?
to be safe, use the "phones" output to connect this pedal... cuz connecting amp with no speakers has high risk (i read about impedance load on amp/speaker, if we connected it wrong, chance is the amp would blown up or something)...
technically if you put fender champion into vox cabsim.. it will sound like fender champion plugged into vox cab... it will not sound like a vox since the amp is still fender champion... but yes, the cab will change the tonality
@@GuitarLearner Thank you for quick reply. Does this Shaper model have the phones output?
In fact I don't own this model but I just bought NuX Solid Studio model which has 3 output one is maked "THRU" for dry signal, the 2nd one marked "TS output" and phones (TRS) for simulated signal and the 3rd marked "DI" (XLR type) for simulated signal as an option.
The manual recommend 4 ways to connect the NuX Solid Studio which acts as amp sim and cab sim with various mic and mic positions to choose from.
There is a warning when connecting the NuX Solid Studio in between the power amp head and speaker cabinet that the speaker cables must be used and connected (one from the Power Amp's SPEAKER OUT to the NuX SS's Input and the other one from NuX's THRU output (set to SPK = Speaker, there's a selector) to the physical cabinet's input. If not done accordingly, the Power Amp head can be damaged! That's the reason why I asked about connecting the cab sim to the combo type amp.
Now, after some reading, I think we should use each cab sim pedal as per manufacturer's instruction but sometime the instruction just tell us what to do and how to do without much explanation and that annoy me. I learned from another vid that the reason behind that warning/instruction is because the Power Amp needs to be loaded by connecting it to the physical cabinet speaker to dissipate the sound energy into heat if not the Power Amp head will suffer damage especially the tube type. In some application it is recommended to use a special load box designed specifically for using Power tube amp to send the signal direct to the audio interface (at the studio) or to the mixer/PA at a performing venue.
So, at home when practicing, I use the NuX Solid Studio as the last chain after my overdrive pedal and using my headphones and don't bother with the combo amp. But if in case I want the sound coming out of the combo, I have to connect via the Thru output of NuX and send the "DRY" signal to the combo amp.
Thanks again for your reply.
Hi. Is digital or análogo like the trescab. Any latency?
no latency at all,.. i think it's analog
Mas itu flyrig v2 udah built in cabsim apa cuma preamp aja ? Untuk direct recording tetep butuh cab sim ya ?
Tech21 flyrig V2 udah ada cabsim nya mas, bisa do ON/OFF kan juga
bisa di cek di review saya di ruclips.net/video/oDgEvuf7qnE/видео.html
nice video, just please tune your guitar for the next one! thanks!
Bang kalo buat Ricord perlu gak si pake tambahan Cabsim efek Kalo Pake analog..tq bang
@@GuitarLearner oh ya mas Cabsim Begini ngaruh sama Tone gak ya semisal Metal apa ada Cabsim Yang Berkarakter sendiri gitu..hehehe
Nak beli dimana ye?
belum pernah coba nux minu cab sim bang 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Tapi tomslen cabinet rekomended yach rencana mau beli☺☺☺
pengennya dapet sound yg solid dulu .. baru masuk ambience , gitu mas
@@GuitarLearner wahh siap mas bener jg analoginya. Menurut mas cabsim ini kekurangan kelebihannya apa mas? Smpe skrg masih awet gak?
