Not going to lie, kind of disappointed a man who works with wood took down hand crafted stair handrails. If you are up to the challenge... I challenge you NOT to use nail guns or power tools and go old skool and do hammered finish nails. Prove me wrong!

Love working on these old houses. Where they used 58 nails for a 4’ piece of trim.
Stain the treads and paint the stringers and risers. That would look nice with metal handrails and banister.

It's different when it's your place. We ALWAYS tried to get home owners to go somewhere when we were doing demo. It can really freak owners when you show up with all the implements of destruction. "What's the sledge hammer for!" Lol, can wait to see what you do...

I’m no expert but aren’t white stairs a bad idea? Steps get abused more than regular floor, the white is gonna be a pain to keep clean.
