We tried moon cakes and enjoyed them at a store called Uwajimaya and had no idea why we couldn’t find them again till I researched and found out about mid autumn festival. Thank you for the information. Great video.
Uwajimaya? Sounds like a Japanese store. Just so you know, both Chinese and Japanese celebrate the mid autumn festival and though there are similarities, they celebrate differently. Instead of moon cakes, the iconic Japanese food during this season is tsukimi dango.
I enjoyed your video and I have a few more questions.. Does it matter where the prayer table is set up to worship the moon? Can it be in the backyard of the house or does it have to be in the front of the house? Is there a specific time during the evening that the prayer begins? Also, is the first prayer usually on the day of the moon festival or on the night prior to the moon festival? Thank you and Happy Mid Autumn Moon Festival to you! 🎉 🥮
Thank you ! We both observe every year, even when it is cloudy and there is no moon to see.
Thank you for sharing~
