This is 22 storylines in a making and 2 directors working on a huge story is a monumental task and the Russo's really accepted the challenge and will deliver well for this film.
Nothing but a gimmick. The characters only serve the plot not the other way around. These 20+ storylines dont have much to do with each other than cameos and post credit scenes.
They film many shots that don't make the cut. For example the Thor scene with Captain Marvel if you watch the clip released today he does not smile after he say I like this one but in the second trailer he does.

That said, I just feel Xmen and Deadpool should just be kept separate from the Avengers in the MCU. They just feel like 2 completely different storylines. Deadpool's ability to break the 4th wall would also upset the tone of the MCU movie presentation style I feel.

This guy got way more interesting sound bites from these guys than most other interviewers because he asks questions no one else is asking.
