i just noticed while uploading the vid that taking off turning slash take off your best weakpoint skill too, so for specific raids that require weakpoints, you can swap in turning slash instead of spincutter and take triple spin tripod combined with weakpoint tripod so each spin will have weakpoint aplied to it, cheers.
Cursed doll is not on top lol, adrenaline 3 with 35 set elixir puts keen on top, in comparison to that, rc is better than keen for both RE and Surge if maintained properly, but in no universe is cd better even at adrenaline 2, you go RC or Keen, and on top of that nobody wants to deal with getting damaged unnecessarily more in raids like ivory or thaemine… Should you cut a CD 7 stone.. then yes CD 7 is viable for surge and RE as a +2, but realistically adrenaline 3 or 2 is core right now with either RC or Keen. The highest ceiling build for surge right now is MI KBW AD 2 because you can negate the negative effect with rage runes and surge passive. However, it is not a huge diff from KBW RC AD 2. It’s more about a matter of comfort in that. But no, cursed doll is out of the picture, you can still run it, but it isn’t good in the current state of the game. Surge is boring, and will be even more boring playing it the incorrect way because you won’t be outputting the amount of damage you can realistically deal on her. Nobody uses dark axel on surge anymore and if they do then it’s very few people, but it’s mostly if you’re playing blitz variant for RE, or 6 damage gem instant cast…but it’s unnecessary because you have enough mobility to move around the boss. Now about the way surge works, it is actually harder to maintain a consistent rotation to get the maximum amount of damage out of surge, the faster you stack, obviously, the more damage, but maintaining that is harder, hitting one skill from the back is also easier, but also punishing if you don’t crit. New players shouldn’t touch surge if they’re not willing to expect the low ceiling for not playing the class correctly. DB remains one of the hardest classes in the game with a high reward level, it isn’t discouraging and the class doesn’t have to be made easier for new players, you stack, hit, boom, the rest comes with raid knowledge and pattern recognition. You also don’t necessarily depend too much on rage to proc, it will still be higher damage with just surge in maelstorm, or simply use kbw. And no, “somehow” people didn’t forget, somehow people went by the actual statistics, and latest damage comparisons, with the new gear from the new content, and saw what was better and more comfortable. If you need more info, refer to the surge channel pinned section for a graph of KBW efficiency. And no, whether you hold spin cutter or not, it makes no difference, it is low on cooldown, you can be flexible with it, it takes you up to 6-8 seconds to stack and fire a surge, and spin cutter comes back off cd mid rotation either way, your surge is the only skill that deals significant damage hence why there’s no point taking syn on spin cutter, your current one is fine, you have to be selfish with it, even if it’s only maintained around the time you fire your surge. I ve been searching about this topic for a long time, all sources and guides, and somehow none mentioned this movement speed tripod on dark axel, ty so much for the info this really will affect my playstyle cause i hated how I had to hold maelstrom until the end for surging
Ey man, thx for the guide. I decided to go with KB when I rebuilt my blade for Thaemine due to the inconsistency of rage runes and RC. Now that I've seen your version with Dark Axel trypod I rebuilt it again with RC and I´m loving it! I gained even more damage with my current bracelet and I´m much more confortable with the gameplay. Not too sure who you've been watching play but maelstrom is absolutely enough movespeed for RC. imo it is preference on ts vs da but if u like ts and the ability to save spincutter for repositioning then you can still guarantee rc as long as you don't mael at the start of the rotation. There is no need to apply maelstrom(and rc) to surprise, the second windcut or even really earthcleaver. The attackspeed will be slightly slower on these without mael which is where the preference comes in to maybe swap build if you prefer the early mael (say if running mass as well) but when applying mael to only ts, blade dance, blitzrush and surprise attack and surge (in that order) you have plenty of time for mael to last long enough to apply to the surge. If the timing is still too tight then again you could move another skill to before maelstrom but then you are noticibly losing a bit more damage with rc not being applied in full to them as well as the attack speed on bd and br. The rage runes are simply there for extra guarantee if the boss happens to move before you can surge and maelstrom does run out. Obviously the maelstrom timing is still much tighter than just bringing dark axel with movespeed tripod but being able to have spincutter for movement exclusively is worth for me. (and has better trixion dps since you can really minmax the maelstrom buff timing to get all dps skills within it and have faster ts rotation)
i'm not against delaying maelstrom if u want to keep turning slash, but most dbs i seen on my raids or even youtube always start their rotation with maelstrom and have yet to see someone take dark axel, and i think its even fine even if u skip blade dance and keep mael only for blitz+surge but as i was explaining, taking dark axel leave 0 room for mistakes and basically guarentee u get max dmg on surge, and as for spincutter i did say u only use it for stacks when u screw up ur rotation hence why atk speed tripod so as u said u want to always leave spincutter for repositioning.
@lostblade9179 Thats super valid, dark axel is definitely safer for rc than relying on mael. I also didn't realise that the dark axel rotation gave enougb stacks without spincutter so if you can keep it for only movement like the ts build then that's definitely another big plus for dark axel and mb for not knowing the counts.
the reason you rely on RNG for rage rune (which you dont have to all the time since you can do your whole rotation in 6 sec) is so you cycle faster with mealstrom. this build is way worse
i did specify cd is better when u go adren lvl 2 cuz u lose the crit but what changed that made keen better in newer raids ? cuz my testings showed cd on top
where is the gear why no one deathblade say who gear use?? for Surge ?? the game have more then 10 gear and no one say in 1 video what gear to use .... this clip the same

Lost blade CD is bad for new raids and gives less dmg than Keen . If you don't want keen go mass increase

Hidden kadan gives arkp clashes give atkp and so do elixirs and trancendanse Soo it's all additive which gives less effect for CD
