Smoky 2nd Alarm Fire in NE DC

  • Ambulance 8 came across a 2 story wood frame, fully involved fire in the Woodridge neighborhood in NE Washington, DC, around 4:02pm on Wednesday, May 1, 2024.
    Fire had already extended to the Delta exposure as a working fire dispatch was placed. A 2nd alarm was struck around 4:13pm.
    It was initially reported that two people safely escaped from the original house, and in total 6 adults and 2 children were displaced. 100+ firefighters on scene, no injuries, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

      Not venting. Opening up to check extension on the delta exposure. The K12 or K14 saw or the chainsaw can be used for roof work. You didn't say anything about opening up the chimney chase. 25 year retired firefighter.
