Hey Stevie, well done on another awesome achievement! Can I just ask a quick question about your academy, does the apprentice tier include access to all of your courses? I have bought your lo fi hip hop and cinematic courses in the past and both were excellent! I'm really interested in subscribing.
Hi Paul! Only the Master Tier has course access, but please send me an email if you are interested in joining, as someone who has already purchased previous courses via teachable I'd be happy to give you a discount for membership. Cheers! 😊
Hey Stevie, super inspiring stuff as always. Question for you regarding Motion Array and Artlist: do you submit the same tracks to both? Do you find that different kinds of tracks do well on the different platforms? I'm a part of both but I've found considerably more success with Artlist, though I'm rethinking my strategy for them now (after an extended period of not uploading to either and being inspired to give licensing and stock music more of a push again)
Yes for sure, different approaches for both. Only some of my tracks get uploaded to both libraries, but many tracks are written only for Motion Array. In short, Motion Array has more appeal for corporate sounding material which doesn't always fit Artlist's catalogue. I also register my MA tracks with Content ID which means I can't upload them to Artlist as per their agreement.
@@Steven_Beddall Thanks Stevie, I was wondering about that too since I saw that you use Identifyy for some of your MA tracks and I know that Artlist doesn't allow that (which is definitely a downside as I have seen my tracks in videos with half a million plays). I thought it was odd when Artlist bought MA but it's definitely interesting to see the difference. The one album that has done pretty well for me on Artlist is up on MA and has made barely anything (like $100) in a few years.
Love all your content! I am a new contributor to MA and I uploaded 3 songs to them. It has been three months and I am still 700 in the que. Am I missing something?
@@Steven_Beddall They were VERY responsive and I got it figured out. I have a big question for you. I registered all my songs with SONGTRUST. They have their own automatic (cannot opt out) content ID system. When I went to sign up for Identifyy, they denied me saying if my songs are already registered with someone else they could not help me. Am I confusing what type of royalties each company collects? Thank You for being so inspiring.
@@djfrankiegreen Songtrust collects performance & mechanical royalties among other things like microsync from RUclips content ID as well, Identifyy is only only collecting ad rev from content ID on RUclips.
Question: when I produce hip hop I do it the traditional way, sampling the music I like (let's say some jazz from the 60s) and then adding drums, synths, etc. Would these tracks fit MA or they don't allow this type of sampling? How do you know the type of samples you can use in your songs to be submitted to music libraries?

I can combine samples with Splice and get good hip-hop. Did I understand you correctly? Do you use old songs from the 60s-70s?
Never. Can't use any copyrighted material for music licensing.
@@Steven_Beddall splice?
Do you ever listen to Mr. Bill's music? He is the master of combining little bits of sound into very creative compositions.
Yes! I'm familiar with him through the work I used to do for an indie label here in Canada, he's great!
Hi! How do you register your songs for ContentID? Thanks.
I use a service called Identifyy. It's very easy and straightforward process 😊
Hey Stevie; Belated Congrats on your marriage.Did you go on your honeymoon, and where?I was on vacation in South Carolina with family.
Hey thanks so much Donald! Yes we did, down to the Oregon coast! Hope you had a great vacation with your family.
@@Steven_Beddall Yeah I did.My wife and I went to Oregon coast 4 years ago .Beautiful sights there.

I recommend reaching out to them via email, they’re pretty responsive!

Samples have to be 100% royalty free for music library submissions, so only Splice, Arcade etc
@@Steven_Beddall Appreciate🙂
And from what I understand, even Splice and Arcade can cause conflict considering many people are using the same samples.
