    Generally, you need 3 times your waist measurement in fabric length plus 2 inches for seam allowance to make a skirt. e.g waist 30" will require 90" fabric length for full pleats.

      is it going to affect the width of the pleats you're doing or you can make them any kind of width you want, since I didn't fully understand that

    Thank you so much for this. I am currently trying to add pleats to a skirt of a dress that is supposed to be gathered.
    I had already made the dress but didn't like the gathered skirt - made me look big on waist. So I am now trying to work out the size of pleat and how many pleats to add to the skirt to make it look even.

    How make inverted pleats for a 28 inch waist bottom of skirt 60inch for wedding gown

  • @ijeomachristiana3816
    @ijeomachristiana3816 3 года назад

    Thank for the tutorial ma. Please ma, do you mean that if a waist is 32, it should be divided by 2 for the front and back plit. Eg 32/2 = 16. Then you mutiply 16 by 3 for the front plit and 16by 3 for the back plit.thank

    • @mormoryo
      @mormoryo  3 года назад

      Correct. Also, you can simply multiply the waist measurement by 3; it leads to the same result.

    Hey Ms Lily, I had watched this six months ago and I made one inche space, so if you want to make one and half and two inches space, how do you mark and how do you pick them. Is it still every three mark. Please reply. God bless you.

    • @mormoryo
      @mormoryo  4 года назад

      Yes, regardless of the width you choose , the markings are 3. repeated points . You pinch 1, skip 2 and lay it on 3 ,then you pin vertically .

    what if i want wider pleats?

    • @mormoryo
      @mormoryo  4 года назад

      For wider pleats, You will use the same amount of fabric and mark larger spacing for the pleats . This will result in fewer # of individual pleats. but will fit the same circumference you're attaching it to.

    Hi, my waist is 30, how mwch fabric i need to make a box pleats

    • @mormoryo
      @mormoryo  5 лет назад +2

      It depends on how much pleats you want. For a lot of pleats, you'll need 3X the waist measurement, for a few, you'll need about double your waist measurements.

    How can we measure fabric for box pleated

    • @mormoryo
      @mormoryo  4 года назад

      Same as any other pleat, Multiply by 3. To achieve a pleated waistline of 30inches for instance, requires, 90" of fabric length .
