Yes, I got the first move fairly quickly. But it takes some time going through all Black’s options - he has quite a few - to see if White has a good response. Overall, a good puzzle, but more interesting for the array of different options than for difficulty.
I failed, assumed some terrible queen sacrifice or other dark magic and missed that cruelst fact that he himself sometimes steps....🫢 I feel proud for all who found it, my talents seem to be somewhere else. @@johnshaw6702
one more puzzle 8/3nbN2/2p1k1P1/1p4P1/4P3/1Pp1rP1K/7n/8 w - - 0 1 white add a bishop on board in correct place and checkmate in 1. after then all pieces are moved one square left and same task, then all pieces up and the same, and at last all pieces 1 square down and same task. composed by Ceriani, Luigi
Hi, thanx for reminding me of these, I saw them a long time ago and I am presently compiling funny mates in 1. I have a question tho. As I liked why the first solution doesn't work when you put all pieces up, why isn't it working when they are put down ? I feel like it's a retro-analysis thing, it would be one of the most obvious if you added a white pawn on d3 initially, that's how I would end publishing it I guess... EDIT : omg forget about it I confused myself, no white bishop can land on a1 with a pawn on b2, promoted or not whatever, and the d2 pawn is unrelated to the matter.
One more option to look at. After the first King move, black can play Q takes N, but one final Qb3 seals the deal.
Was wondering about this myself... thanks for pointing it out. (^_~)
That was interesting! I found the key move and knew it had to be right but I missed some of the possible responses by Black.
Same. That black queen to b5 had me. I knew I could take it and get mate after, but missed d4.
I guess we are improving, though 😊
Really?😂
It's nice to be liked all the same 🥹
Brilliant problem. For the first minute, I couldn't believe that the starting position was correct.

Me too. I didn't look at all the possible reactions, but enough to know it couldn't be stopped.

Quickest I've solved one of these yet. Love this channel!
Excellent variation of a 2 mover, thank you very much.
Missed the knight checkmate… sigh
A Zugzwang with a wide open board! Very cool.
After the better part of a year, I may be starting to get the hang of these.
Yeah, fairly simple that one but I like simple.
I've been wrong before, but this time I think I have it...
Black Q nicely dominated. Great puzzle, thank you.
Nice one!😊
Night to d5 checkmate is the most beautiful lol
one more puzzle

♟️🔝?😊
Yes solved it. Figured it was Ka2. Didn’t go through all the moves for black but most satisfied.
Done!😊
Easy ... it is fun to get it okay, makes me think I am "good" but tomorrow, I will see that it might not be the case !
That’s awesome. I didn’t figure it out. But of course I have never figured out any of your puzzles.😂
شكرا🎉❤
OMG I got so lucky I literally solved it in 5 seconds (Just from Luck)!!!!
King to A2
