My Arduino reaction wheel code is based on multiple balance robot builds that were posted to the Internet. My version of code and schematic will be posted to Github for download. I left many comments in the Arduino code so you should be able to decipher it. There will be no support however leave a comment and others may respond.
Click on the link/s below and you will find over 20+ hours of educational videos (yes I watched them all). A special thank you to Paul McWhorter for his excellent 26 part tutorial on IMU's, Filters and PID's. Please support his channel as he needs the money to buy truck loads of coffee beans. :)

Great work! Thanks for the open source! A question: the nidec blue wire that goes to 5v and through resistance to D12 Arduino pin is correct? Looking to the nidec wire diagram I see blue wire as 5volt encoder power and A and B wires as encoder data. Thanks !

I was also looking at this. I think the blue wire is stop/start

    Hello,
    I studied your program "ReactionwheelV13.5.ino" and I don't understand the line 291.
In the subroutine " SpeedPIout() ", you calculate the variable PI_pwm and you don't use it after except line 291
but I don't understand it. Can you please explain to me.
excuse me for my bad english. I'm french.

Absolutely fantastic!! Thank you so much for posting this! Does ever become saturated and not be able to continue balancing? I am looking to do something very similar for roll control of my Borderlands Claptrap build! Thank you once again and great job!

The movement doesn't come from the pivot... you have an unballanced reaction wheel, the mass center of the wheel is not exactly on the spot which makes it wobble when turns.... But nice work, overall!

Great video. May I know where is the best position to put the MPU6050 in the structure? Look forward to hear from you. Thank you very much.

Technically anywhere because gyroscopic motion does not depend on the position.
