Yo B-Real is cool af! These interviews have been great. Started listening to Cypress Hill again after this. Such good music man, a treasure of the period. Stay high people, peace!
My brother (RIP) got me the Temples of Boom CD for Christmas way back in '95 and to this day, it's in my top 10. ALWAYS wondered what the deal was with that House of Pain diss.
RIP Jay Turner (DJ TRT) one of the soul assassins production team, he made one of the most memorable beatz that I can remember peace to his soul and thanks B-Real for remember him in perfection!
Pac really is east coast, south, and west coast. He lived in nyc, Baltimore, Marin City/ Oakland, Atlanta, Georgia, and Los Angeles. To me...his experience of staying in all of those places at some time or another is what made him such a versatile rapper and what still makes him relatable to most people around the country.
The Alchemist is the truth. I always laugh thinking about how he came from Beverly Hills and moved to NYC to be around some dudes that came from nothing (Mobb Deep). I been down with him since his first solo album 1st Infantry.
I remember I went Paintball shooting one day and B Real was there .. I feel like I should’ve gone up to him and thanked him for all the great music .. he seems like a cool dude 🐐
Cypress Hill & House of Pain sound so similar. I would have loved if Cypress Hill & House of Pain (and rest of the Soul Assassins) collaborate with the Hit-Def Squad (EPMD, Das EFX, Redman, K-Solo, Keith Murray, etc) on a Soul Assassins-HitDef Squad album.

Speaking of Grand Puba, Vlad, you need to do an interview with him. It's long over due. I like Lord Jamar, that's my man, but it's redundant at this point to keep interviewing him.
I love B Real. Bro I remember I saw you way back in the day in concert in Chicago, I think it was at the China club, I remember I felt so bad for you, you stage dived into the crowd, and everybody stole your shit, I remember you specifically stopping the show and asking for a ring back that you said had sentimental value to you, I'll never forget that happening to this day, cuz I wanted to punch whoever stole your ring in the face and give it back to you. And I had so much respect for you too cuz after that you even continued the show. To this day it was the best concert in my life, I was only 16 years old, people were throwing joints on stage and you were smoking them. I'll never forget those memories
Thank you vlad for asking that everlasting muggs question because hearing it back then when I was younger I was confused because as far as I knew hop was tight with cypress.
Yeah the beats & content definitely went more gangster rap, diss tracks, etc. we really didn’t have that too much on first 2 records. I like temples of boom but I prefer 2nd record as the epitome of Cypress Hill.
It was hip hop you were supposed to rub elbows. HOP was the Irish version of cypress hill for white Americans. Jump around is bigger than anything eminem or anyone else ever dreamed of it becoming.
