My finger traced the shaper edge of the blade testing the sharpness. Suddenly I hear a door creak open, “Niko?” My head turns around. My eyes widen when I see my mother standing in the doorway. With a horrified look on her face. My hand subconsciously drops. “Ow!” I feel the blade slice through my flesh. My mother runs to my aid and grabs the blade away from me. “Niko, I told you not to touch this.” Her voice is harsh but borderline with a hint of panic. I clutch my wounded hand wincing because of the pain. Suddenly the blade starts to vibrate, The blood which had dripped on to the blade started to seep into it. “M-mom?” I drop the blade and run toward my mother. She pulls me into her arms and slams the door behind her. ‘What fuck was that?’ I try to normalize my breathing but soon find out that that is practically impossible when you have two arms clasped around your stomach. I tried prying them off but they were too tight around my waist. “Mom?” I feel her loosen her grip but not enough for me to wriggle out. “Mom!” I speak more urgently. She finally lets me go, allowing me to breathe normally. After a few breaths, I turned around to see my mom. She was crying...
