Being from Iowa I have opinions about this...
McGregor should be on this list, with Pikes Peak State Park being there...
And no mention of the lakes? Okoboji and Spirit Lake are one of the biggest vacation areas of the state!

There are so many great small towns with cool little parks, restaurants, architecture in Iowa. Places for hunting, fishing, rockhounding, little museums of quilts, hometown heroes, 19th century homesteads, one room schoolhouses, antiques from agricultural to manufacturing to cars, clocks, windmills, toys, the ballfield from the movie, oh, and the festivals, tulips, corn, hogs, soybeans, apples, octoberfest and that list goes on for pages.
Last year we drove three hours to hunt for seashell and coral fossils in a small county park. It was a great day, met wonderful people, got home with a bucket of fossils.
We've driven around sometimes just to see small towns hours away, there's always something to see, a trail to walk or bicycle, the little museum, the small town diner, an ice cream stand.
Hey if we wanted to go to crowded concerts and come home with our ears ringing we could go to Des Moines or the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake.

Well for once Grinnell actually made the list. My hometown. Of course it was mainly about the college and how rich it is. That being said they could have said said more about what it had to actually offer. College with less than 2000 students has its own radio station , observatory, Olympic pool, and 400 degrees. But you have to have an a+Gpa and a lot of money

This person has obviously never spent time in an Iowa “bow”tique. Oskaloosa? Decorah is way better! Fort Madison has such an amazing historical past to explore given the importance of Iowa’s settlement. And as someone else mentioned, the lakes! We will not speak of the Mount Vernon photo atrocity. Finally, is that a photo of Korea at the end?
