The really experienced NerdCore artists now do exactly what you say- make a song that’s great on its own first and foremost, but IYKYK and it’s enhanced further. There’s a lot of anime rap in NerdCore, but not exclusively, as TV shows, movies, video games, and other pop culture topics all exist as well. As for this track, Dabi was a child of the Number 2 hero in the world long thought dead. His father (fire based powers) basically married his mother (ice based powers) in order to sire powerful children who would have all of their parents strengths and none of their weaknesses. He was an abusive asshole for a long time (redemption arc came later) and his actions led to Dabi being presumed dead only to return later under a different guise as a villain. ~_~
Thanks for acknowledging that its RAP that is nerdcore. Just fall into anime. Give lots of things a chance and youll find what you like (i like everything 😂) for reference, a 12 episode anime is a out 5 hr commit, so theres your dabble time. Have fun my dude and thanks for the reaction!
I'd say the best way to get into Nerdcore is to pick an artist, and listen to all of their January releases, from about 2020-2024. You'll hear immense growth. As for which artists, I'd say the required ones are Fabvl, Divide Music, Daddyphatsnaps, Rustage and Dizzyeight. Those 5 because of how much they individually have grown the Nerdcore community, as well as my personal preference of course. Nerdcore has some mind bogglingly good artists: Shwabadi, Connor Quest, JHBBoss, Pe$o Pete, Drip$tick, McGwire, Yayu, Ty Wild, Aerial Ace, and those are just off of the top of my head. Now for my full personal preference, listen to "Cross My Heart", then "Cross My Heart Reimagined", then "Die Together", and lastly "Break My Heart Again". All by Fabvl. Those 4 songs I think are the best way currently to show Fabvl's growth as an artist. Fabvl also has some original tracks where he talks about his life, like "Right Now", "Come Around", "Palace in the Sky", "Alone", "Highway To Hell", and "Crazy". Rustage has 3 albums I love, "Overflow", "Sword and Sorcery", and "WANTED", where he has some deeply personal tracks.

Before that, since he didn't see a way to surpass him, Endeavor arranged a woman with a Ice quirk to marry him, in order to create someone that could. Dabi was their first child, Endeavor thought he could be the one, until they learned he didn't have a resistance to the heat. He tried to get Dabi to give up on using his quirk, but since he was raised on becoming stronger and wanting his father's approval, Dabi kept training. Then when his younger brother Shota was born with both his father's fire and his mother's ice powers, Dabi grew resentful. Long story short, Dabi wants to kill Endeavor, and even his brother if need be for all the messed up stuff he did.
My top recommendations are Fabvl (mixes hard rock and rap), Daddyphatsnaps (DPS which you have already been listening to), Divide Music (softer rock with some rap), DizzyEight (typically a smoother rapper).
So some recommendations Dragon Ball, Naruto, One Piece, & Bleach are the heavy hitters but are long series. However that is where a lot of nerdcore generates from, because those are the most mainstream. More recently you have My Hero Academia, Demon Slayer, Jiu Jitsu Kaizen, & Black Clover. There's Fullmetal Alchemist which you can't find anywhere anymore so you would have to go with Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, which is more manga accurate. But honestly something like Megalo Box that's short & simple but still good or FLCL for setting the time for how whacky it can be. Also Haiku, it's just volleyball but it's so good at giving the amine sprit. Yu Yu Hakusho is underrated & Sailor Moon is more geared towards girls but is still good. Also One Piece is being reworked so they can fix the pacing issues, because I'm like a lot of the other animes that have a lot of fillers it just has really bad pacing as a result...
If you want a good first time anime i dont recommend something long like naruto bleach and one piece. Either check out attack on titan, jujutsu kaisen or one punch man cuz they are on the shorter side and are really good for getting into anime. If you want to be able jump into anime stuff that lines up with the songs coming out. New anime is seasonal, jusy find out the tip rated new anime, check out one you might like, and since the anime is popping youll get like 6 different songs about the same show or character within a month of each other. Ti many older abimes with too many episodes and just say put all that time in for a few songs. Bexause if we are asking how many must watch shows there are. Well thats a huge time dump.
