  • This 1978 Chevrolet Monte Carlo is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. "Your own personal driver's suite" was the slogan for the all new totally redesigned Monte Carlo. Originally as with all cars the Monte Carlo started off as a much larger coupe, but by the third rendition it had became a much smaller and lighter vehicle. The original ideal though was still in place, a personal car with luxurious features. This 1978 is as loaded as they come, from the interior to under the hood is has everything you could want in a collectible car. Start off with the exterior, the original paint still shines nicely with no dents or scratches noticeable, for being over 35 years old, it is in remarkable condition. The vinyl covered back half lets you know that this is 70's all the way. Pop the hood and you will see the completely original 305 V8 that has been, as with the rest of the car, has been meticulously taken care of. With it only having a mere 42658 miles it still has the majority of its life left. The original wire wheels are in excellent shape and finish off the exterior off this GM nicely. Open the door and you will see what was all the rage in 78, white exterior with burgundy interior. Although the color combination is not that rare, the fact that the inside has been covered with leather makes this an excellent find. If you are looking for a future collectible or just a really nice car to make some memories with this 78 Monte Carlo has your ticket. Options on this 1978 Chevrolet Monte Carlo include; AC, AM/FM/8TRK, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Power Locks, Tilt Wheel, Seat Belts, Leather Interior, and Wire Wheels wrapped in Radial Tires. This 1978 Chevrolet Monte Carlo can be seen, including an HD video, at www.gatewayclassiccars.com or call at 812-294-1555 for more information.

I owned two of these back in HS in 1986-1987. Both of them had radiator issues and both of them had messed up doors. The driver’s side door would swing open when ever I made right turn. Still, I loved the look and still do.

This is what we call Keeping it Real. Don't need to Fuck it up by Putting on All gold 22 or larger rims on the Monte. Some People can take a Tight Ass Car and Fuck it up and Destroy the Looks of it. Just don't bring that Shit around a Low Rider Show when it has the donks and large gold rims.

I remember when these came out. We were thinking, what the fuck ! A 1970 to 1977 monte carlo or 1978 Monte Carlo, the 78' sucks ! Although gas prices in 1978 went from $0.58 a gallon to $1.09 per gallon. These were the worst cars in the winter time. Never buy a 78' GM midsize product.

Not any worse than a 1980 T-Bird on snow or ice. I drove a 1978 Monte Carlo and a 1980 T-Bird. The T-Bird had a little more horse power although I though the Monte Carlo rode better. I also think tires have a lot to do with it.
