    Mounting the Outdoor unit on a concrete slab on the ground would have been better of than hanging it on the wall.
    This allows adequate access to the condenser during washing and also avoid you staining your wall.

    I saw a building here in Brooklyn where they had the outdoor units on the roof, is it feasible to do that in Ghana? If so, I think I will do that to completely hide the units. I have a central air system and it works, but I don't recommend it...the vents will need to be cleaned periodically otherwise the air you breathe will be full of dust. Also, why cool the entire house when you only need to cool the room you are in, which will save money?
    ps. In the kitchen, I would fill the hole with newspaper, then apply plaster because I wouldn't want insects or mosquitoes coming through it. If you have spare tiles, you can then cut them to size and apply it to the plaster using tile adhesive.

      Roof mounted is possible but not for us. Just make sure, you may need a pump for the condensate line

      The Centra air system, is it an HVAC system. Looking for experts here in GH. HVAC often have filter for in-coming and outgoing air. So vents shouldn't get dirty

    • @jmichelle1974
      @jmichelle1974 2 года назад

      Central air is the way to go. You can easily close off the vents in rooms not in use which conserves energy. Besides, you don't stay in one room the entire time you're at home. You move around your home at any given time and I, for one, want to move about my home comfortably temperature-wise. I grew up in a home that had one AC in my parents bedroom and the rest of the house was a hotbox in the summer and I absolutely hated that.

    5kk system isn't smallish though. Solar is quiet inefficient. I have 5kw, it can power 2.5 Aircon and few appliances. But ECG even then is way cheaper than solar. Solar is good for reliability with good storage

    • @kingstal90
      @kingstal90  2 года назад +1

      Where did you get your solar system from?
      Have you tried putting on
      2 x 2.5AC units ? Can it handle it plus your fridges/freezer and say one computer during the day?
      Do you have a storage battery for nighttime operation?

    • @aberba
      @aberba 2 года назад

      Bought mine along with battery from China directly to save cost and shipped through a company I often use. The manufacturer delayed a bit though cus they buy the Growatt off-grid 5.5kw inverter from their partner...so that delayed due to covid, about 2months. Battery (4.8kw) was ready in no time though.
      I have not powered mine with aircon yet but technically it should...has capacity to run 1.9kwx2 leaving extra for fridge and computer with no problem. But lights and stuff add up so I'll personally recommend 2 of the inverters (650 dollars each). Battery is the most expensive components (mine is 4.kw LifePO 100AH... it's a powerwall... neatly packaged). If you have about 15kw, you're are safe for the load you talked about overnight. And no matter the battery capacity, always buy lithium LifePO battery. Will last longer without degrading. Cost more but worth it. My battery is 4.8kw 100AH and can power just my all my electronics and medium size 4 star fridge 24hrs. Aircon will last few hrs with mine.
      My next goal is to get 1 same inverter and connect both in parallel for 11kw load. For battery, they have one arranged in stacked racks... modular. Will go for 15kw. The solar panels are also far cheaper compared to Ghana prices... factory price. Ghanaians add way too much profit.

      Hi Lawrence... What do u think by installing the outdoor AC Unit up on the wall or bellow down the wall.. Which one you prefer and why... Thank you

    • @aberba
      @aberba 2 года назад

      @@abdallahgibril4836 I personally prefer attaching the outdoor unit to the wall but below so it can be easily accessed for regular cleaning and servicing. The outdoor units aren't maintenance free. They'll need to be cleaned few months interval. Also they break down once in a while depending on the brand.
      So you want to position it where it can be accessed easily. You'll also need to weight that along with it's security depending on where you live.

      I've asked about the bars on windows many times before on other people's videos and the answer seemed to be that there are no security alarms like there is in the USA (e. g. ADT) so security is up to each individual home(and USA allows gun ownership as a further deterrent to robbers)

      Guys, we are used to burglar proof bars in houses in Ghana, so get over it. It's been in Ghanaian homes from time immemorial, so it doesn't bother most Ghanaians. It is part of the culture of building in Ghana.
