It's the episode where George quits his job, and then changes his mind, so he goes back to work as if he had never quit. This actually happened to Larry David when he was working as a writer for SNL.
@@andreadamon2197I saw an interview with Larry and he tells the story. The guy kramer is based on tells Larry to just go back the next day as if nothing happened. Larry did and just sat in a meeting and it worked 😂
It’s been confirmed that both Larry quitting and Larry switching out the phone message tape actually happened. I can’t remember which informed Jason that George was an avatar for Larry. Either way, we got both Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm in one lifetime. That’s like winning the lotto jackpot twice.
I was thinking the same thing. I wish he would tell us which one... but I think the episode he's referring to is when he quits his job on a Friday after he told-his-boss-off. Then over the weekend after talking with Jerry, he realizes it was a big mistake. So, he goes back to his job on Monday as if nothing ever happened.
Jason is the most interesting Seinfeld actor to listen to. Julia next. Michael if he'll grace us. Jerry if he doesn't go on too much about how he only likes comedians. Even though he's not actually funny himself. So Jason wins. Articulate and interesting.
Wow. So true about Jerry. Another thing is that his act has always been that of a crank ("what's the deal with___?"), which was funny coming from a young guy, but from an older guy it's just crankiness.
Jerry is one of the funniest. Always makes me laugh in Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. But he gets a lot of heat for coming off as pretentious snob. I for one find it hilarious his snobery.
Molloy has some history writing comedy, so this is a good interview. One of my favourite Martin / Molloy sketches was Birthday Boy, where it's some dude's birthday and everyone let's him get away with anything because he's Birthday Boy. I remember it escalates to a cop pulling him over, discovering its his birthday, and letting Birthday Boy shoot him with his service revolver. And it was all on radio with sound effects and stuff, old school. Funniest shit. Video killed the radio stars (now they're live-streamed on webcam)
I LOVE the hand held shaky cam cuts with the edge of the monitor in the foreground. It's SO LIKE I'M REALLY THERE AND DRUNK AND NOT ABLE TO KEEP MY HEAD FROM FLOPPING AROUND! I just thought I was going to watch and hear Jason Alexander send up Larry David but what a super distracting way to bring the viewer into the interview - it's not distracting at all! /s
"he knows he deserves it, but he just doesn't like it" could be a theme for a lot of people who unfortunately then go on to do something horrible about it. Possibly the best era of work by Mick Molloy too, always at his best interviewing other comedians, or just riffing with them.
Check his IMDb. He has done *a lot* of stuff since Seinfeld. And he actually did Pretty Woman *during* Seinfeld. Seinfeld S1E1 aired on July 5, 1989 and Pretty Woman was filmed Jul 24, 1989 - Nov 30, 1989. But again, check out his IMDb. The man has 160 acting credits and most of them was after Seinfeld. 11 acting credits *before* Seinfeld. 32 acting credits *during* Seinfeld (that is, acting in projects other than Seinfeld between '90-'98) And 117 acting credits *after* Seinfeld. 117. If that's "not working" then I don't know what words mean anymore.
I'm a huge Seinfeld fan, and this is the first time im hearing it... If you think hes told that story too much, you should get some hobbies in your life 😂
Jason was the better choice. I don’t see Jerry and Larry coexisting on Seinfeld as well. They both are alphas. Jason is a wonderful sidekick for Jerry.
Robert DeNiro does the same thing as Larry, only when DeNiro does it, people get nervous and take it seriously. When Larry does it, it's just "huh what's with this stupid old guy?"
Jason is easily the best actor and the funniest actor on the Sienfeld by a distance, followed by Julia and Richards. Ironically Jerry was the least funny among them even though a great comedian !
Sometimes, you capture a moment in time, and you just have to accept what you have and enjoy the reruns. Or, you try to come back like _Arrested Development_ did an end up realizing that you made a huge mistake.

George is my all time favourite character in Seinfeld. His acting is beyond fantastic! Bravo George!

I love Jason Alexander as George. Made the whole show
"He knows he deserves it, but he also doesn't like it."
That.. well.. I can feel that sentiment in my PLUMS. Ya know?
That is a perfect observation of Larry... plays out just like that on Curb
Well seeing as how his whole character is a Larry David impression by the titles sake we have a good 180 episodes of Larry David impressions lol

The episode he's recalling is the phone message one.
I think it might have been episode 12 when he Poisoned his Boss
JA is a fairly eloquent man. I enjoy listening to him.
Wonder which episode he was referring to. The tenth episode George wears a wedding ring to a party see the reaction he gets from women. Lol
