Yup, love mine as well! it's a bit quirky as i get a interference of electricity but i think it has to do w/the voltage here in where i live in Bolivia. thanks for the video!
i use the hp filter on reverb for loops. keeps the low end cleaner. this box is amazing - thank you for the video, great tips, super inspirational and helpful!
@@joonoonoo9643 I don't have the sherman, but am looking to buy one next and have researched quite heavily - theres a good starsky carr tutorial/demo - ruclips.net/video/hP-qv7OCPOA/видео.html My take-aways: the sherman is more pricy but has 2 x 12db multi-mode filters and midi as opposed to the vermonas cv/gate and single filter. I think the vermona seems to be a little more straightforward/traditional filter and the sherman more aggressive/experimental/complex - but both can get very out there/crazy - the vermona can still kinda do FM and AM and get heavily distorted, can do way more than it appears at first glance. The vermona will give more instant gratification wheras to get more from the sherman you need to learn it more as an instrument - but both have tons of flexibility/functions - theres tons of pretty mediocre YT vids of loops being destroyed with Shermans, but far few more subtle/interesting ones - which seems to point to this. Both seem built super well - I can confirm the Vermona build is excellent. People complain about the sherman always being distorted/noisy by the gain having to be high to trigger the gate, but this seems to be easily negated by using midi to trigger it. But again, I think this gnarly quality is part of the character/sound - it would seem quite essential to read the manual to get the most from it. If you are quite new to synths/filters/modulation it may be best to get the vermona, but an owner of both would be able to give you a better idea. There are other choices, but most are either super expensive or have a design I feel less appealing. I have a few Vermona products, they are one of my favourite companies.
True. You could use two though. ;) Honestly, I use it mostly on individual mono drums (Kicks and Percussion) or as a parallel effect, where I drive the drums heavily and mix it back to the original signal.
Mid Side processor in your Daw: encode before output, decode on input channel, but the effect of vermona (or all analog mono processor) is only in mid or in side channel. MSED voxengo free vst for this trick. Or process Mid and Side in two separate process and merge in Daw the result
How do you get creative?
Retroverb Lancet is pure dub techno.
@@girlinagale absolutely!!!
This video is exactly what i wanted to hear from this module. Thank you!
You’re welcome! :)
Cool vid, just picked one up, will give this a try, great idea.
Hey Will, have fun with it and thank you!
Thanks so much for this, leaning towards getting one :-)
You won't regret this decision :)

Great video! Love the drum sound you had going with the spring verb
Thanks! I really dig the combination of filter and spring reverb.

Glad you like it!
do you mean layering the original sound and hp filtered sound with reverb on it?
@@joonoonoo9643 you can do both as there’s a mix knob and pre/post routing for the reverb. It’s a really flexible box.
@@LondraCalibro9 Oh I get it. Thanks! May I ask what's your thought on comparsion between Sherman Filterbank 2 and Lancet?

Awesome, do you mix and master remotely? If so would you use the vermona on customer mix / masters?
Thanks, I do mixes. And the Vermona is great for that!
Hey. Nice video. Could I use this while mixing vinyl on a send and return channel?. Thanks
Yes, but only in mono :)
LOVE
Love ❤️❤️❤️
I bought the same unit but can't use it as an insert in the Apollo x6 for some reason?
Sounds strange. Every interface should work. What's your setup?
@@phable I figured it out, nothing to do with UAD but my in/out settings in Ableton weren't correct.

Maybe I do that in a next video :)

SPL Hermes :)
But the problem about using the vermona on the entire drums is that you sacrifice the stereo mix of the drums right ? Otherwise , how do you proceed ?

@@matteonolli Great idea!
Clipping = distortion /saturation not compression 👍
Depends on how you use it ;)
Where can I get one.
In every music store or online :)
Such a shame this thing is mono :(
You could buy two though :D
Great at shaping sound and adding depth rather than width.
Would be sick if stereo with stereo filter wowow
