Kevin Sullivan was never that tall but his charisma. His whole character and the evolution of his career made him a Giant in the industry. Jake is well Jake. His work speaks loudly for itself. Two guys larger than life. Way beyond anything we see today.
I know there are lots of clips of Sullivan's satanic run in Florida, but I wish there was a compilation video of everything as it happened in order, especially the early days of the angle.
Jake and Kevin were definitely on the same creative wavelength with the ‘sinister’ gimmicks. Jake always put me in mind of Randall Flagg from the Stephen King books
I Believe that Kevin Himself Had Said It Wasn't a "Satanist" Character, Per Se ... But, Based on Love Gods &/or Goddesses from Southeast Asia and That Surrounding Area
And That the "Satanist" Talk Only Really Took Off After a Headline in an Weston/Apter Magazine Proclaimed Kevin Saying Something to the Effect of "The Devil is My Manager$
Just being straight up, "I love Satan!" would have, on the one hand, been too easy to ban, and yet on the other hand, too cheesy. What he did - bringing in the names and symbols no one knew and mixing it with the bizarre look and actions - it made it seem too original to be fake, and too obscure to be ban-able. As a kid, he seemed legit. As an adult, I look back and see that it was done brilliantly. It was certainly a hard contrast to the literal cartoon show the WWF was. Even as a child, I had no interest in Hulkamania or any of that. But Bad News Allen versus the Prince of Dahkness... sign me up!!!
Kevin and Jake are the only people in wrestling to do an evil satanic gimmick and people to this very day still believe they are actually satanic or at least Kevin is,lol
So great to see Jake doing well and you are an inspiration.

That gimmick was so masterfully done that people still think he's a Satanist. 😂
