It's not that they're useless, but for most people (at least for me) who don't really play games on the phone, they don't really see the difference. The reason the Huawei is snappier is because it's UI is more optimized for that. In game performance the S10 would pull ahead because it straight up has better specs for that.
In that case the benchmark is useless cause the 2 phone are very close in the benchmark score, and ultimately a benchmark like antutu is a app like a other one running one app faster than a other phone doesn't mean that your phone will run the other app faster....

That zoom and low light performance is untouchable by any other smartphones at this time, including the S10 family. Showing the side-by-side performance between these two phones is just icing on the cake that you won't be disappointed with the P30 Pro performance.

i bought a p30 pro 2 days ago solely because of its camera , every decent phone today is quick enough but i am impressed with the battery life and the speed at which it charges is incredible .
The application launch timing difference is due to the longer animation on the S10+. Which is totally on the software side. You can also reduce or increase the animation speed on your settings.

Animation is a bit faster on EMUI but still noticeably smoother and faster than on One UI. Samsung never focused on UI performance whereas Huawei consistently put most of their efforts on it, and it clearly shows in this test. Give credit where it is due.
One UI looks for children and old people, people who are blind since Samsung stock icons are big out of the box, icons designed by children, people with small hands who want big phones. This is just stupid haha.
Did you reduce the resolution of the S10+ before this test? It's max screen resolution (by default) is significantly higher than the P30 pro's. This could result higher load times when opening gui or full screen apps I assume!
@@haoranyu6810 A test is a test, he is testing performance, so they should be running the resolution to purely test performance, I bet you could smoke Usain Bolt in a 100m sprint if Usain had to also pull a car along. Also note that Samsung s10 has slower animations, if animations were disabled on both, it would also provide a lot more accurate test.

Waiting for something to open because it has a longer animation does not correlate to the actual performance of the device, which is what a speed test should TEST. The Samsung s10 can physically load many things faster than the p30, but because S10 has longer animations, it seems slower. Your argument needs to be more thought out, like I said in a previous example, if you were to race against Usain Bolt, you'd lose, but if you made him drag a car then you would win obviously, cause Usain bolt is physically restrained (In this case, the Samsung s10 is restraining by a heavier load such as the resolution), while the animation speed can be thought as you having to sprint 100m but Usain has to sprint 1km, obviously you would finish before Usain given the shorter distance you have to run.
Why is everyone so butthurt about animation speeds. That's just the way the manufacturers desinged their softwares. So in their default animation speed if one phone is faster, then the same phone would likely be faster with half the animations coz if you're gonna reduce the animation of one of them you should with the other as well. Otherwise you'd just be favoring the slower phone just so it can keep up
Animations won't fix the S10's sluggishness. The S10 responds very slow to the touch. You can tell by the big delays when opening apps or multi tasking. With the Huawei, it responds instantly just like the OnePlus 6T or the iPhone Xs.
DO you even have both? After days daily use on my p30Pro i must say for daily use my S10+ 1tb is hard to beat. Battery is little better on P30Pro, but less pixels to push..Camera is better if you into Zoom and night shots. But Video like 99% huawei fails, and slow motion it do a poor job. SPeakers for sure s10+ UI for me OneUI is one of the better ones this days, but matter of taste tho so.. Screen most know samsung is the king, but the p30Pro is less good that i had hope for. Both great phones, and have their pros/cons..just have to pick the one with most pros you like. :)

For the P30 to work at its maximum speed you must put in: battery> maximum performance mode, if this mode is activated the drawing of a small clock appears in the upper left. Without activating they are 227,000 and if activated they are close to 300,000 in antutu.

At 4:52 you can see the animation on the s10plus. P30 pro has no animation. If you reduce s10plus animation in the developer option it would be much faster than the p30 pro.

I can't wait until the OnePlus 7Pro comparison. Both these phones are beast. Wish Samsung had kept the old style of multiwindow and floating apps. They just took away the main advantage I used. Floating apps still works better, but not as good as it was.
so ive picked up on a lot of sources that the european (and so forth) version of the S10 isnt as fast as the american one, but does that mean it has better battery life as well? nowhere ive looked had an answer to that question.
Apple good in Performance. Huawei good in Camera. Samsung good in design. Remember this and it will be getting better and better with it again and again.
Both phones are good in their own ways. But I still think that Huawei should've gone with the QHD screen. Nonetheless it has one of the market's leading camera yet.
It's a shame really. The only reason I'm struggling to decide on which phone to get is because the S10 has quite the better screen AND it has an 3.5mm jack. If the P30 had that, I don't think there would be that much of a competition because the phone otherwise is pretty damn good.

P30 Pro slaughtered S10+ the SD version lost too in other tests, if even the Kirin 980 is beating the A12, SD855, and Exynos 8920 the 990 this year will kill everything again. Best phone out now Huawei rules Kirin reigns.

Did you reduce the resolution of the S10+ before this test? It's max screen resolution (by default) is significantly higher than the P30 pro's. This could result higher load times when opening gui or full screen apps I assume!

@@haoranyu6810 A test is a test, he is testing performance, so they should be running the resolution to purely test performance, I bet you could smoke Usain Bolt in a 100m sprint if Usain had to also pull a car along.
Also note that Samsung s10 has slower animations, if animations were disabled on both, it would also provide a lot more accurate test.

Waiting for something to open because it has a longer animation does not correlate to the actual performance of the device, which is what a speed test should TEST. The Samsung s10 can physically load many things faster than the p30, but because S10 has longer animations, it seems slower.
Your argument needs to be more thought out, like I said in a previous example, if you were to race against Usain Bolt, you'd lose, but if you made him drag a car then you would win obviously, cause Usain bolt is physically restrained (In this case, the Samsung s10 is restraining by a heavier load such as the resolution), while the animation speed can be thought as you having to sprint 100m but Usain has to sprint 1km, obviously you would finish before Usain given the shorter distance you have to run.

Why is everyone so butthurt about animation speeds. That's just the way the manufacturers desinged their softwares. So in their default animation speed if one phone is faster, then the same phone would likely be faster with half the animations coz if you're gonna reduce the animation of one of them you should with the other as well. Otherwise you'd just be favoring the slower phone just so it can keep up
Animations won't fix the S10's sluggishness. The S10 responds very slow to the touch. You can tell by the big delays when opening apps or multi tasking. With the Huawei, it responds instantly just like the OnePlus 6T or the iPhone Xs.

DO you even have both? After days daily use on my p30Pro i must say for daily use my S10+ 1tb is hard to beat.
Battery is little better on P30Pro, but less pixels to push..Camera is better if you into Zoom and night shots.

I can't wait until the OnePlus 7Pro comparison. Both these phones are beast. Wish Samsung had kept the old style of multiwindow and floating apps. They just took away the main advantage I used. Floating apps still works better, but not as good as it was.

so ive picked up on a lot of sources that the european (and so forth) version of the S10 isnt as fast as the american one, but does that mean it has better battery life as well? nowhere ive looked had an answer to that question.

It's a shame really. The only reason I'm struggling to decide on which phone to get is because the S10 has quite the better screen AND it has an 3.5mm jack. If the P30 had that, I don't think there would be that much of a competition because the phone otherwise is pretty damn good.

P30 Pro slaughtered S10+ the SD version lost too in other tests, if even the Kirin 980 is beating the A12, SD855, and Exynos 8920 the 990 this year will kill everything again. Best phone out now Huawei rules Kirin reigns.

Try the S10+ with The Snapdragon chip. Test have shown this time around the Snapdragon chip is much faster the Exynos version.
