Hi Chris, I don't know how to thank you, you are a life saver I only got a week to prepare all I did was following your videos and strategies I scored an overall 7.5 (Reading-8.5, Listening-8.5,Speaking-6.5, Writing-6.5) five-day challenge helped me a lot you are an excellent teacher and a great motivator ( i followed all the things you said in the video about the exam day , it helped me to lower my anxiety and focus well on the exam) Thank you, May God bless you.
I would like to thank you for your good advices and great help. Most of your advices are of a great help to me. As for this lesson, I think the real problem in IELTS LISTENING TEST is that there is no enough time to read and understand the questions, which is essential for a candidate to give correct answers. As far as I know, there is no single exam in the whole world that does not give the examinees enough time to read their questions. The only exception is the IELTS LISTENING TEST. In this test, a candidate has to listen, understand, read, think of, write and fight time at the same moment. The human mind cannot function well in such a circumstance. Even the strategy you have suggested would not always work properly since it sometimes needs deep thinking as you illustrated. Thinking takes time and requires full attention, which would be at the expense of the following questions. I think the responsibility lies with the designers of this test. They should come out with a real listening test instead of this manipulation. Many thanks to you
Your reply warmed my heart as I felt that I am not the only one to think that way.. It is really challenging and not only evaluates our level at English, but also our concentration and how fast we react and understand the question and these are really my major problems, even in speaking, we have to think and and answer the question in a few seconds.. It is not fair bcoz I suffer from a lack of concentration.. (ADHD) 😢😢😢😢

Sometimes, I think 30 seconds are still not enough to prepare for MCQs in part 3. There could be 4, 5, or even 6 of them and understanding the question and generally take some ideas of the choices in 5 - 7 seconds is probably impossible, especially when in part 3, the choices would often be very long, much longer than that in part 2 (if it has MCQs too), so it will be really hard to find out how the choices are different from each other. I have an idea of using the 30 seconds of checking in the end of part 2 to read the questions of part 3. Is it a good idea? I really wish to hear your answer. Thank you.

Hello, thanks for this awesome video, it is really useful especially for me. I have some concerns about writing due to the format of the exam, instead of PC based, I chose paper based, and I do not know how it will be occurring because I always mastered my essay on computer😢.
A weird pattern i’ve noticed while doing practice tests is the contradiction between what the test writer expects you to write vs what actually makes sense. For example a blank that should have “of chocolate” as an answer end up requiring just “chocolate” despite the context not making sense this way. What do you think Sir?

Bro this is what I was looking for .. why tf IELTS listening is going harder and harder a I just solved cambridge18 and most of them were multiple choices
Thank you so much, sir! And I wanna ask, I couldn't concentrate on listening if I read the choices while the audio was playing... I can take notes while listening with no problem. In this case, would it be better to answer the questions with notes and memory after all the audio is over? The exam I plan to take is not IELTS, so I will have time to solve the questions.
Hello Chris, thank you for your worthful tips. My problem is my low speed in reading the answers in multiple choices and I want to know how to improve it, as you know highlighting in CDIELTS is a little bit more time-consuming. (Actually I try to improve my reading skills and that of speed by reading a novel, did I opt a true way?)

Hi Chris, I want to ask if I write the word only companionship after hearing in listening but the answer is human companionship. Will it be considered wrong?
Hi there, it's important to provide answers that accurately reflect the information you hear. While "only companionship" may have a similar meaning to "human companionship," it's crucial to match the words used in the recording as closely as possible. Therefore, if the correct answer is specifically "human companionship," writing "only companionship" would likely be considered incorrect. I hope this helps!

Hello Chris, I'm confused about marking in listening and reading. I know general and academic marking criteria is different. Yes
thank you So much I got band 6
Well done!
Hi chris cambridge reading and listening practice tests are the same with actual test.
While listening will give some time to read the question when audio is changed or it will be played continuously without any wait time
Hi there! In the IELTS Listening test, you will be given some time to read the questions before each part of the test begins. The exact time varies but is typically around 30 seconds to a minute. The narrator will inform you when to start reading the questions and when to start listening for the answers. If you have any further questions or need our team to help you prepare for your exam, please feel free to contact us.
What a relief Chris. Thank you

Hello, thanks for this awesome video, it is really useful especially for me. I have some concerns about writing due to the format of the exam, instead of PC based, I chose paper based, and I do not know how it will be occurring because I always mastered my essay on computer😢.
During the listening section, can student highlight the key word on the computer based test?
5:40-6:00
Are the correct answers given in order or mixed up in "choose two correct answers" questions?
A weird pattern i’ve noticed while doing practice tests is the contradiction between what the test writer expects you to write vs what actually makes sense. For example a blank that should have “of chocolate” as an answer end up requiring just “chocolate” despite the context not making sense this way. What do you think Sir?
You either haven't understood the instructions, or you're using practice tests from an unreliable source.
@@Ieltsadvantage will check again. Thanks for the info.

Is it true that the speed of listening audio is a bit faster than
Normal YT videos ?
OMG I GOT SCORE 8,5 FROM YOUR STRATEGY
Well done! Congratulations!
Bro this is what I was looking for .. why tf IELTS listening is going harder and harder a
I just solved cambridge18 and most of them were multiple choices
Hi there! Please read the article titled 'How to Complete IELTS Reading in Less than an Hour' on our website. If you would like our team to guide you through your IELTS preparation, feel free to email us.
@@Ieltsadvantage Actually, I think I didn't represent what I want clearly.
I meaned that I realized my problem in multiple choice questions was that I am not as fast as read them all and find the keywords in questions and options. Therefore, I attempt to improve my speed to read an understand Qs by reading a novel.
Hey man, can we stop the recording after hearing one quest???
Would beneficial if you'd reply!!

Hello. In our country , some of IELTS teachers said that we only need to focus on question without reading choises . Is that right
Also reading was full of finding heading questions which I were really struggle with

Welcome
actually chris makes alot of sense only if you can get what he means.
I recently made a mistake which seemed like the right answer but after watching this video now i can tell why it was wrong.
In case we don't have the time to read all questions, what should we do?

Hello Chris, I'm confused about marking in listening and reading. I know general and academic marking criteria is different. But I went to IDP session and she told us that everyday marking criteria will be different in academic and general. Suppose you scored 35 in listening it might be 8( academic) and another day it might be 7.5 (academic ). Is this correct?
