Anyone that says a snap kit is not a very good kit should view this video, IT TURNED OUT great
Yes....I remember when snap-tight meant rudimentary, beginner kit. This one definitely is way more detailed and a huge step up from those. Thanks so much for your kind compliment.
Lou is the man! you did A GREAT job AWESOME work dude!
thanks so much and totally agree, Lou is the man.
Awesome work! The Bad Batch is a great show and the Marauder is such a unique ship in the show. I wish I had more time to build models these days.
For the Marauder I just bought a toy version of it made by Hasbro in the SW Micro Galaxy Squadron line. It's pretty well detailed. I figure with some toys, I could take a quick way and do some detailing on them to enhance the details.
The level of details that toys can produce these days is amazing.. especially with those special crowded funded runs from HasLab such as their Razor Crest and most recent Ghost. The guys at Tested with Adam Savage did a great job of enhancing the Razor Crest with some weathering techniques.
Nothing wrong with snap kits. I recall Reveal had some great SW snap kits that were basically fully painted, even the pilot figures, and look pretty good with some quick detailing to enhance and clean them up further.
I really like some of Bandai's SW snap kits. They are so detailed and have very tight fitment tolerances and they mold them in smart ways to more easily hide seam lines in the construction of the various sections.
Thanks for your kind comments. Yes quite agree kits and toys these days have raised the bar. Models like these and especially from Bandai are so well thought out and engineered. They really have come a long way. Thanks for watching
Great job making a cartoon look live action!
Thank you very much
Good looking final result for the Marauder. Thanks for the video and I hope your tendonitis fully clears up.
Thanks so much. Me too
Excellent job! Beautiful work on the paneling and the weathering. It really turned out fantastic!
Thank you very much
Terrific work, great paint finish and how-to guide. Thanks for sharing it
You’re welcome. Thanks for the compliments
She looks amazing I lost my mother on the 12th of November
Oh no....I'm so sorry to hear that Travis. My sincerest condolences. I know how you feel. Hang in there.
@@InterstellarModeler thank you very much
I like the look of the cockpit. Great job!!!
Thanks so much. Yes I thought fogging up the windows was a great idea too although someone reminded me recently that one could scratch build a cockpit if they wanted to.
Great job!
Funny, how 1/144 brings it in scale with a High Grade or Real Grade Gundam. :D
Thanks so much
Very nice build! And, once again, you gave me painting and lighting ideas. Have a great Thanksgiving, and thank you for your videos.
Thanks so much.....Happy Thanksgiving
Cool, just looked at this today at the model shop! I've been working on a toy style version of this for far too long out of a barbie jet to fit 6 inch figures! Going for a sorta deformed early 80s Kenner toy style...
Thanks for watching. Appreciate the compliment. Interesting idea using toy.
Moved in the middle of it and it got shelved, but I finally found Hunter in the Black series line so now I got the whole team! Got me energized to Finnish it up! Also your video popping up was like a sign from the force!
Awesome job!
Thanks so much
Nice work as usual! Congrats
Thank you
Very wicked looking ship! This ship turned out really nice: The painting, lighting, and build were excellent. May you have a great holiday season!
Thank you and the same to you. Some people note the ship calls mind the Klingon Bird of Prey because of the wings. I love the design. Thanks for the nice comments
Nicely done sir and thank you for sharing. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
Thank you very much.....same to you too
God bless you and your family and to the great work you do on the models bringing it to Life 😊
Thank you very much. All the best to u and yours.
Great job
Thanks
Great Job !!!! Beautiful build .
Thank you, really appreciate you watching
That's a lovely job on a kit I've long wanted to get hold of. This side of the world, the kit seems to be non-existent, alas.
Sorry to hear that. Hopefully you can get a hold of it. Thanks for your compliment and for watching
@@InterstellarModeler Unbelievably, just this afternoon I found it in a New Zealand online store, and I ordered it! Not cheap, but I will have it for Christmas.
Are you sure the cockpit goes on that end?
Kidding. looks good,
Lol.....thanks for watching
Great work. Will you be making the Revell N1 from the Mandalorian? I'd like to wish your family a safe and happy festive season and new year.
Thanks, you too. Undecided about the N1. Love the ship but just dont have room. Appreciate you watching
Did you choose not to do the insignia, or did I miss something? Anyhow, and either way, it looks fantastic! 👌
Yes i was going to place it onto the stand but completely forgot. The ship was already attached. Too hard to airbrush by then. Tried sponging it on but it didn’t look discernible. Oh well. Thanks for your kind comments.
Can you do a tutorial on airbrushing with the craft paints? I have not had success. Do you use flow improver? Do you thin any differently?
Hi Randall….sure. I plan on doing some tutorials for the channel in 2024. Will include one for this.
Lone it!
Thx
Can you explain how you are airbrushing Folk art paint? What are you thinning it with. How well does it hold up compared to Vallejo for example. Great job on the Marauder. I had to glue my wings in flight too. Thank you for sharing and have a wonderful holiday season.
Hi Scott. I found success by filtering through a fine mesh filter meant for liquid 3D printing resin. The paint is first thinned with water. I then run that through the filter twice. I sometimes end up making the paint too thin requiring more applications with the airbrush but it still works. Here’s a link to the filter. The paint holds up just as well as othr types of acrylic paints. Advantages to using craft paints include costs and a huge variety of colors. Hope that helps. And thanks for your kind comments. amzn.to/3sTjqOL
Great job, I bought my Maurader at Wonderfest and plan on starting it soon.
I am impressed with your use of craft paint. You said you mixed it with Vallejo paint. I have used Vallejo thinner on craft paint with good results, what do you use?
I mainly use water and pour it twice through a fine filter. That has been a big help. Look for 3d printing resin filter on Amazon. They’re made to pour unised liqued resin back into the bottle. Works great for filtering thicker paints.
Beautiful build! What kind of reflective tape are you using
Thanks. Its aluminum tape from Nashua found at Home Depot . This stuff is usually used for ducts.
Thanks! Always enjoy your videos.
Welcome!
I would like to know from you exactly how you made the electronics? If you have time, could you describe it to me, I would be interested in everything, what you used and how you assembled it. Many thanks!
Tibor Czeróczki (HUNGARY)
Hi, all of the details are found betwn 4:15 to about 7:00 in the video. The lights used are chip sized SMDs from Evandesigns, the link is provided in the description. They’re attached to a switch and 3V power source. If u have specific questions on hooking all that up, Evandesigns provides great advice when asked. Hope that helps. Thanks.
@@InterstellarModeler Welcome!
Thank you very much!
Where did you get that Dremel handle?
Found that at Home Depot. Its very handy.
It is a republic ship not imperial
Ah....precursor to Imperial design I guess. Got it. Thanks for watching
Awesome job as always! Dumb question about the actual kit itself.
Is that supposed to be another turret above the cockpit, or just a molded in greeblie?
(Full disclosure, havent watched the show because 95% of the animation styles theyve used on the various shows bug the crap out of me for whatever reasons. 🫤)
With amt, i figure it could go either way, lol.
Thanks so much. I think those are just greeblies. I've not seen them firing from the top of the cockpit. Appreciate the nice comments.
@InterstellarModeler call em like I see em. Been watching your stuff for a long while, and you nail it👍
