Gave my Paradox to a newb when I was still a newb. The Uplink or Ascend are better. The Ascend won't bang to shit and turn into a paradox after a year of woods play.
Ignore that last post. I was thinking of hole 17. My go to for 18 is something understable and attempt a hyzer flip, but I've never been too consistent with them so it's about a 50/50 chance that I make it through.
Got a DD Vandal in Lucid plastic that I've beat in now and it's my go-to for long tunnel shots. Definitely takes a lot of practice to get the angle and speed just right so the disc doesn't hyzer out or turn too much. Satisfying when you get it just right.
Not always. Some discs turn and never fade (on normal lines). Some discs don’t start to to turn until late in the flight especially when hyzer flipped.
I tried this with my Dragon (8 5 -2 2) and my Aquarius (8 5 -3 2) and it worked... on an open field. Now I'll have to try it on a tree-lined hole and see if I can block out the trees lol...
I currently hyzer flip with a 169g DX Teebird that is really beat in. I have to throw it on 90-100% power to do it but it works. I had an uplink but it was way too understable for me. I’m thinking a Star 160g weight leopard might be the trick for me for easier hyzer flips not at max power.
You are correct. My star leopard is probably my straightest flying disc with the right power. I tend to put too much power into it though so i usually reach for my eagle at this point.
What *is* a Hyzer Flip? I still don't know after watching. Cool video but I'll be honest, I'm confused as to what a 'hyzer' even IS let alone what a 'hyzer FLIP' is.
Hyzer is basically the angle where the side of the disc you are not holding is aimed lower than the side you are holding. The disc on a right hand backhand will look like: / Holding a righty forehand on hyzer will look like: \ The angle can be adjusted by how far you lean into the disc. If you keep the disc flat but throw leaning forward it will hyzer. If you throw leaning back it will come out on anhyzer. Hope this helps
@@Namisar a hyzer flip is when you throw the disc releasing it an an angle as described above. The flip happens when the speed of the disc overpowers he angle it's on as the disc wants to fly more like a wing. When it flips up to flat, the disc flies a bit further and in a straighter line as it's more of a pure flight in a sense, rather than following the original angle. For example an ultimate frisbee disc or other frisbees of that kind always hyzer flip when thrown on a backhand unless you really force them not to. The glide on those discs and the blunt wing shape compared to disc golf discs means that they stabilise very quickly as the aerodynamics work that way, the air is least resistant to them when they fly flat and glide along. If you've thrown a frisbee, you've already done a hyzer flip. Getting golf discs to do it is harder but with changing release angles, snap and spin amounts etc you can do it, but with some discs more than others.
I throw them constantly.... an old beat up KC Roc is my weapon of choice but I have others. And it cracks me up because some of the guys I play with call it my "strange" disc. I shake my head and can not get over the fact that they've watched me throw it hundreds of times but still cannot do it themselves even though I've often explained it. It is not so much how to throw the disc as it is the disc itself.
Depends on your arm speed, but yes! The mamba is very flippy though so I would only recommend that for someone with a slow to medium arm speed. The Sidewinder has been hit or miss when it comes to hyzer flips. But if you have a fast arm speed you should have no problem
Yes! The disc is going to follow the same path your body is on, even after the disc has left your hand. So if your body is over-rotating the disc will over-rotate as well
Why isn't it just called just turn or fade and then just have "negative turn or fade" be the opposite direction? Why two separate words for different directions?
Because they are 2 different things, one is high speed turn(what it does when going fast) and the other is low speed fade(what it does when slowing down).
If you are ever noticing that the disc of turning over too far it may be because the disc is too flippy, or it may be because during your follow through you may be stepping through too far with your back foot. Ideally your back foot will land parallel with your other foot or even slightly behind. This will ensure that you aren’t over rotating and this will give you the best chance of flipping it up without turing it over. Hope this makes more sense
@@DiscGolf-Bro i think it was the plastic type that may have changed the numbers, mine wasnt a plasma, i think it might have been neutron but i lost it the other day so i cant look. Big sad about that one, it was my beat-in go to driver at the time, but, just need to make a trip to get another one. I can beat them in very fast, if i want to or not 🤣🤣
How to Hyzer Flip:
1. Buy an Axiom Paradox.
2. Throw it on hyzer at 25% power.
3. Feel like pro.
Already have one, does exactly what its supposed to do 👍
Gotta throw that thing practically vertical to keep it from burning
I prefer the uplink
This is the way… just got a paradox and wow it loves big hyzer flips
Gave my Paradox to a newb when I was still a newb. The Uplink or Ascend are better. The Ascend won't bang to shit and turn into a paradox after a year of woods play.
Finally, someone explains turn and fade super clearly and right at the start instead of trying to bury it at the back.
Thank you for explaining the disc basics and specs. This is the best explanation of the numbers and what they do that I've seen
Thank you! The graphics took a bit so I am glad they were useful
Peefect simple explanation, with my favorite disc (insanity) no less. Loved it, instant subscribe and share…waiting for part 2 now!
Part 2 is in the works and will be out soon. Thanks for the support! 🤘🏽
Underworld! I learned to hyzerflip with that disc. Put it on a good bit of hyzer with about 50% power and it holds straight as an arrow
Prodigy F5 400g is my favorite flip up disc. Straightest disc out there
Really? I’ve never tried prodigy before, I’ll have to check that out. Thanks for the recommendation!
I really love to Hyzer flip Discmania's Origin . Extreme hyzer flip Discmania's Genius
Genius is such a funny and precious disc I find. If you have 20 discs in your bag this is the one that is nearly like no other.
I have a nuke ss that flips amazingly for such a high speed disc, exit-angle almost at 7 o clock.
Jeez that’s a lot of angle! That thing must be super flippy!
3:35 lol I recognize that fairway. Love Bill Allen.
Yes sir! Bill Allen is great! What’s your go to disc for 18?
Yes! I was gonna comment that I recognized the fairway for hole 11 (it's a b**ch to get par there). That's my hometown, too 😀
@NTX Disc Golf my go to is usually a Destroyer and I forehand it usually to the open green between the two large trees

I like what you did with the discs and for the distance that you can throw.
Thanks @TheTechnatron those graphics took a while so I’m glad they are paying off
You should also bring up on hyzer you need to change your aim point because it pushes right early out of your hand.
Great production 🫰
Turn is in the beginning of the flight and fade is the finish of the flight.

we need more videos!
Cool video
I grew up close to that course you threw at. Overall great course, but can be unforgiving at the same time.
Yeah Bill Allen is great but you are 100% right, that back 9 holes can be rough 😂
A Well done video
Good advice! I like Discmania Geniuses for h-flips. Althought they are easy to overcook to the right.
Thank you! And thanks for the recommendation, I will have to check it out!
Great tutorial! Will you make more videos like this?
Absolutely! I have part 2 coming soon!
Great info ^_^ my buddy loves the Maverick

Road runners or if your stronger sidewinders and if you have a super beat in Valkyrie
I love my sidewinder! I just have to throw it with a lot of hyzer since it’s super beat in.

Step 1 of 1: throw an understable disc on hyzer
Whats the point you're making about his back foot?? He released the disc as his back foot leaves the ground. This is just for clarification.
