They may very well be the best streetcars ever built...it will be a sad day when they are probably replaced by some bloated, over-complicated pieces of junk.
@@CarlGerhardt1 Exactly! The Kawasaki lrvs were built to last unlike most transit vehicles. They still move really fast, and work pretty good for their age. 9013, 9068, 9107, 9100, and 9001 I think are all retired tho. 9013 was been scraped and is sitting at woodlands yard. But the other ones were involved in crashes
@@hiltonlive32grnrngr They’re mostly popular due to their history, age and how beautiful they look. I still love the PCC’s too, but I love the LRV’s a little more due to their horsepower and toughness. I also love the humming sound of the fans they have located on the roof.
Damn that paint scheme on the k-car is beautiful
Right! I wish they would do a few others in that scheme or at the very least do Car 100 for the suburban routes in this scene scheme.
These green and cream PCCs look as though they once belonged on CHICAGO'S CTA which are known as the Green Hornets.
I love the little SEPTA wing logo on the side of the PCCs. Such a nice little touch
That was actually PTC’s logo.
@@TheEline2733 I didn't know that, very cool that they repurposed it for SEPTA
The Kawasaki cars are my ultimate favorites ❤

The Kawasakis are not bad, and clearly SEPTA got a whole bunch of mileage out of them. Not the same charm as the PCC's though (I'm a 70's child).
Mine too! I love them so much more than the PCC cars. Not that I harbor any hate toward the PCCs; I just never understood why they're so popular.

i never knew a light-rail vehicle could become a heritage unit
The PCC is great. Those Kawasakis look pretty boxy. Is Philly getting new ones anytime soon? Or are the Kawasakis holding up?
Yes. New cars arriving in the not so distant future. 2027 maybe.
It’s pleasure participating the trip with you.
It was great seeing you.
What were they doing with the 9000
They took it down to the streets of Girard Ave route 15 line, they’re gonna put the K car in a museum by the time when the K cars retire.
Private excursion.
@@TheEline2733They couldn't afford to run it on the Subsurface Trolley Lines, could they?
Stop holding up the traffic for your pictures!!...this is Philly!
