Which sequence is better??? Gel the Mousse OR Mousse then Gel
#gelandmoussecombo #washandgo #naturalhairstyles
I like the more curly definition side.
Hey Crystal! I'm glad you did this video because I always do the mousse first. People would get in my comments and ask why I do the mousse first when most people do gel first and is there a difference. I would tell them I'm not sure because I never did the gel first, but that I would try it and see. Of course, I haven't gotten to it yet, but now I can direct them to your video. I think the side with the mousse first was more defined and had a little more shine. How many days did it hold up for you?
Oh great! You were definitely one of the ones I saw doing the mousse first so I knew I had to try it. I was able to wear it 7 days. The hardest part was managing the fluffy side to not get too fluffy before the other side. I want to try it again applying it in smaller sections.
@@CrystalClearCurlsChannel I'm glad it lasted for you. More mousse, less gel is a fluffier look. Less mousse and more gel is a more defined look and better hold at least for me using the Aunt Jackie's products.
Excellent video! I put mousse first for moisture, then gel for the hold. It’s defined and soft at the same time. I always wondered. Win win either way. 🙂
Yeah I probably would still do the opposite way for gels they have too firm of a hold for my liking because the mousse on top softens the hold perfectly
You've had better. But your thick hair is Gorgeous ❤!!
Thanks, it was a good set, not meant to be the super defined, but more of a fluffy set
See my thought to this, thank god cause I was just about to make this video lmao. But I have recently started trying the bee girl products from the doux and I’ve tried the mousse and gel separately and love the r lesions but I wanted to try a combo for a curl set. I feel like when you apply mousse first you get a softer wash n go because you can’t really feel how much gel you’re applying or you’re not completely emulsifying the gel and getting more jelly balls vs mousse second you can see how much gel your actually applying to make sure you’re getting the right hold then curl setting with the mousse/ also the mousse adds the slips for shingling or finger coiling if you wanted…almost like a laying it in place and then (don’t touch it until it dries)
I think another huge factor will be the products used as well. I really wonder if this will hold true for every combo. I tried the bee girl gel and mousse combo and I preferred it over gel only because the gel had my hair soooooo crunchy. So I typically would use a mousse to lessen the hold of a gel. I don’t know why I never thought of doing a gel last to increase hold
Hi Crystal great video I always wondered which way was best thanks for the video❤️❤️❤️
Yeah I think I’m gonna keep trying other combos to see if that way works better regardless of the products
I love watching your videos, you really have helped me learn how to manage my hair 😂 do you have any recommendations for deep conditioning masks?
Awwww thanks!!! My favorite DCs are from Ominira Naturals and Natures Little Secret.
