I'm late in seeing this, so you might not see these questions. When looking at the side vertical zipper pouches on the pack, do they press inward or outward on the main area of the pack? Do the side top access pouches interfere with the "bottle holders" on the sides or are they big enough to get something into with those filled? Do you still get side sway with the pack with the new frame? Could you load a compressed folded flat sleeping bag in the weapon sheath compartment? Does the weapon compartment sheath area press inward to make the main compartment less? I truly appreciate all the time and work you put into this review. You showed this pack way better than most ever have. Take Care and Stay Safe.
Bottle holders one the outside: the outside holder can still be used with it loaded and have a bottle inside the outer pouches. Side zipper compartment - They are especially a nice spot to run not overly thick molle pouches and magazines. You can put whatever you would like, obviously, but that looks like it's main purpose. At the very least, what seems to work best for me. It is very convenient to store extra magazines for quick access. Vertical Sidezipper pouches can have some effect on the internal space on the main pouch but marginal. I have not had anything larger than a canteen inside the side zipper molle portion of the ruck. Rifle storage area: You should be able to put skinny items inside with no issue, but understand that they will likely limit total space in the main top compartment. I only put a thicker water-resistant binder in the weapon pouch. Newer frame : The newer frame adds a bit more protection and load rating to the pack and seems more comfortable to me personally. Protects the bottom a bit if you had to drag the ruck. Sway is a bit less with the new frame also, but I personally didn't have too much sway even when loaded. As long as you load the pack effectively, it will not have much sway in my experience. I hope this was able to answer your questions and if you have more or need further clarification just let me know and I'll answer to the best of my ability.
@@theninja9563 I appreciate the answers to my questions. I really like this pack but needed the additional info. I have a V90 Battleship, but I'm looking for something with a better frame than the aluminum stays. Take Care and Stay Safe.
@DamianBloodstone Yeah the V90 Battleship has alot more room over all. For frames maybe your could try the Index2 90degree frame if it does not come with it.
I think the frame is great, and with the upgraded frame, it seems a lot nicer. They also changed pocket layout where the rifle sleeve goes though that makes it more stable under wieght
@@theninja9563 Thank you so much for sharing. I really like the F4 terminator and the gen3 is a great upgrade. SKYCRANE II frane is different from G4 Terminator, and I worry about whether his performance is as good as G4. @a45456565 No problem if you have any other questions let me know. Also the f4 does have the xl version that's a bit larger. I'm sure you will be happy with any of the eberlestock bags and rucks.
Those side pockets look huge. I have seen people complaining about this pack having 'sway' issue when they ruck it. I think if you store heavy stuff like water on the side pockets, that would be the case.
Ive had the side pockets loaded with 5 mre and other objects and its not bad but there will be more sway but honestly if its tightened properly its not that bad. Ill do other videos showing different objects and weight. Nothing at my hotel gym is small. All of the weights are crazy wide even the 5 pounds. Im limited due to me not being home in about a year and my schedule xD
@@khomatech0 The gossamer frame on my Halftrack works great. Its super rigid on vertical like an external frame but flexible like an internal frame. Also great for heavy loading.
Yes I have fully replaced my issued Moller 2 ruck with my terminator f4 but I'll recommend getting the XL version of the f4 to help fit shit in even better. I would look at what your needs are and what your unit requires you to pack. So kit and ACH or other bulky items will be a bitch to fit. I wear my kit so it's not a issue. I have several videos of this ruck. One of which is specific on what I could fit in it. Also understand most schools aka air assault ,airborne, ranger school require use of Molle 2 ruck or Alice pack. Might want to check there regs on aftermarket rucks.
So sleep system? How does that all fit in there along with your other gear/ clothing/ etc. I’m a fister and roll with you guys a lot so I need to be able to stay out as long as you guys. I’m also LI so we ruck a shit ton
So on a prolonged recon mission depending on water resupply, Filtration. Amount of food. Depending on weather/ temp I would have a modified sleep system with a medium sleeping bag, woobie, bivy cover,Obviously poncho as well. I can fit that setup in the bottom pouch.
I can fit that setup in the bottom pouch. Ill verify but I have not really used my sleep system a whole lot. Also clothing I mostly bring socks ,Combat top and shirts. I used the side tubes in wet weather bags for clothing
If I get a packing list or better idea of what your normal mission set is when attached that will help me do a test pack to see how it would fit for you.
@@theninja9563 awesome and yeah I usually don’t carry much for clothing other than what you stated + maybe extra boots. I never necessarily have a packing list I just pack what I need. That allows them to run it inside or outside to secure what ever is inside. The holes have not caused any issues in the slightest. And your talking about the tube ones on the farthest left and right. What's your worry about the small holes

Great question. So I could get a IBA with no issues rolled up into the side tube. That's with it's slick. If your talking mags, plates, canteens, admin pouches. the sway on these packs is awful, but can be mitigated with the Gossamer Frame + serious strap tightening.

that gap where rifle sheath goes, can it be closed somehow when you dont use it? or does it gape around open like this all the time?
