    Allahu Akbar. Seriously sister. Real talk here!
    I feel like crying. and I am a man. I dont care what anyone says about not been masculine enough. I thank Allah for blessing me this mind set.
    I've only watched 20 mins of this video and I've come across some key points you mentioned -
    11:42 "A successful marriage is one in which spouses can help each other to gain Allah's pleasure and earn jannah"
    we have potential spouses and married ones who are too focussed on the dunya aspect. That they don't understand the meaning and blessing of marriage.
    12:44 "be intentional" - "verily actions are backed by intention". The spouses are an amanah for each other. Whatever good we do for our spouse, we should have the intention to please Allah.
    14:00 "forgetting this is part of my ibadah" - being kind to one spouse, talking in a polite manner, listening to one's spouse, helping around with family and household chores and many small acts are an act of ibadah.

      @@bobbertyboyd2280 If a woman tells you to not cry or is visibly uncomfortable with you crying, most of the time it's because they never saw it before (shock) or they feel unprotected(scared something bad happened or is gonna happen since even u a man is crying).
      When i saw my father cry for the first time, i felt a insurmountable pain. because he never cried in front of me before, so something bad must have happened to him. It scared me to be honest.
      Crying from a pious heart is very positively received in Islam as our prophet Muhammad (pbuh) often cried and encouraged us to do so, as the tears are one of the most beloved signs of one's love and fear for Allah.

      @King Sultan I didn't say I cried. I said I feel like crying.
      I guess the reason for my emotions are of 2 reasons.
      1. I was previously married in which it lasted a year. I would say that my intention for marriage was pure. To this day I believe I was a Just spouse who did not abuse my power of authority. I treated my spouse with respect, kindness and love. and alhamdulillah, I had and willl continue to have this mindset that whatever good I do for my spouse, is an act of reward from Allah SWT.
      Unfortunately my spouse did not have that mindset and was concerned about the dunya rather than the akhirah. Which makes me sad.
      2. similar to my ex, there are other Muslims out there who are like that. They're too concerned about their wordly life, which then brings a lot of high expectations from either one spouse or both. There are potential spouses who don't have the right intentions for marriage and or don't understand it. some don't even consider a marriage a blessing. it is unfortunately one of the problems with the ummah. We are too distracted by dunya. and that makes me sad and makes me want to cry.

    • @majidkhan89
      @majidkhan89 2 года назад +9

      @King Sultan I wish I could say that we were happy from the beginning. We were indeed new to marriage. I knew marriage has its ups and down, and I was prepared to make it work and at points go out of my comfort zone. The same can't be said about my spouse.
      Unfortunately after a year of no affection or intimacy at that, with no real connection or commitment from my other half, I ended our marriage. Alhamdulillah my divorce was smooth with no further issues. This was indeed a test by Allah SWT in how I dealt with, I believe a narcissist. Alhamdulillah Allah gave me patience, and did not lose my temper at any point. I reminded my self that she is not mine even though we were married. That she is one of the slaves of Allah, just like I am to him.

    • @majidkhan89
      @majidkhan89 2 года назад +3

      @King Sultan indeed brother. Divorce is a very sensitive subject. It's also very sensitive in how you can give divorce. That's why it is recommended for both spouse to go into a marriage with full commitment. That you don't give each other excuses for divorce.
      Yes after my divorce, her family just took her belonging and left without a word. I dont think they had anything to say or any blame to push towards me.

      @King Sultan jakallahu khair for the duas. Really appreciate it. May Allah make it easy for everyone and bless them with righteous spouse. And for those who are married, may Allah shower them with mercy and love.

    SubhanaAllah! What a touching sermon. Reminds me of my own story. Being a revert, marrying at a young age of 20, I was blessed with the best husband but he was taken away in a blink of an eye! Literally within 5 mins, he returned to his Maker - no illness, at fajr as we prepared suhoor, on Friday the 18th of Ramadhan 3 years ago. Life has never been the same. Raising our children alone, especially our younger daughters who were 3 & 7 then.... going through the most turbulent times and not having a shoulder to lean on, or just that special someone to talk to...
    Never take your loved one for granted. We really never know how much longer we have with each other.
    Jazakallahu khair sister for this beautiful talk. May Allah swt bless all couples with love, peace and understanding, and may He swt bless all those looking to marry with sabr, faith and ultimately the coolness of their eyes....aameen

    Life is so short Subhanah'allah, and that in itself we take for granted. My marriage is a blessing, sometimes I forget how long I searched, worked, prayed, and struggled to find my spouse. Wallahi becoming a housewife and leaving the old life behind has changed my marriage. Feminism has ruined society and many families. If it is possible any way, go back to old roots and live life the way Allah has intended it to be. Men have their roles and women also have their roles. Only this way a family can flourish PERIOD. Even long before I made this decision I have decided to live a life of hope and not fear. It takes a lot of inner work to get rid of conditioning from generation to generation.

    The talk is good Alhamdulillah. Sometimes when you show gratitude, their are spouses/other family members who will not mirror the behaviour, but consider that they are the ones who are giving everything where as the other one I.e. you is the free loader. They will never acknowledge your contribution. So in a way, they will always be the dominant one , and you will be the one who always needs to be grateful and keep singing their praises. And they will also use that to prove to others, how great they are.Over some time, it can become detrimental to your reputation. Because you are being grateful and acknowledging their contribution, where as they are confirming that what you are saying is true. And trying to prove , that the whole world goes round because of them.even people around you will start believing that the person who is being acknowledged is the only one doing good. The person who acknowledges is just taking advantage.

      @@siham3325 I would say no. You have a roof over your head. Yes the finance is tight but is he doing the best he can with what he has? If so look upon him with more mercy. He comes home to play with the children... You will probably never ever get that again if you divorce. Also with the councilling that was suggested, be careful. Some Councillors validate your feelings and you leave feeling your spouse is an even worse than you thought initially. Talk to Allah and complain to Him, ask him to mend the relationship. You do your best... Clean yourself up and dress well and ask Allah to direct his attention to you? Take all issues to Allah and submit it all there. Do not frown when he comes in. Try a more positive approach like 'thank you for working hard for us'.
      Fix your intentions as well. You are staying in the marriage for the children and also the first reason is it is half your Deen. Focus on the reward. Focus on the many ayat about patience. Allah's payout is supreme. We like to do things 'for Allah' when we are happy or getting a return. Doing things for the sake of Allah when do not want to do them and doing nice things for the husband you are angry with and probably do not even like right now is not easy. But where else in your life are you excelling in with such flying colours that you think you can get a high level in Jannah through? How many orphans are you raising? How many slaves have you freed? Do you fast year round? Are you even guaranteed shuhada with the delivery of the current pregnancy?
      You want him to address his wrongs but that is not something within your control. If you want to see a change in your life... You change yourself. That submission to Allah can change anything. I mean literally... If he is fussy about food... Cook it with Allah's help and ask Allah to protect you from his complaints. Literary talk to Allah about it all. Cry to him, ask him for the solution to any matter however small. Improve how you put forward your argument. If you do that then you will be looking at a different marraige in a year and be glad you didn't give up. Being patient is not easy.
      Just like the sister said. Don't get in a fantasy about divorce. If you think this husband is an idiot please remember you will be swapping out one idiot for another. There are no perfect human beings.
