Hello engineer. when I connect the USB to the Arduino (Arduino Nano), the Arduino Power LED turns on, and when compiling, the RX and TX LEDs turn on and off immediately! Where do you think the problem comes from?
On my module it's just an S4 diode. Info and buying link is here. i have arduino DUE clone after i plugged 12 volts power supply there is a small part beside the capacitor which is beside the power plug was on fire i disconnected the power supply but it seem dead the part was on fire look a lot like that diode should i just replace that diode
surprisingly, I didn't happen to see that particular diode in my arduino nano. Infact those components around the diode are also not present in my nano......
Hi ! I was using my Arduino Nano to drive the stepper motor by A4988 driver with 12v and 10amp power supply .My board was working well but stepper somehow wasn't working but suddenly after replugging the Power supply my Nano chip (Atmel 328P) got bursted . I checked and found that my Voltage regulator went shorted too and schottky diodes maybe damaged too but the lump(burning point) is only made on the Nano 328P Chip. I also found that my GND PIN and all +ve pins(like Vdd, VIN , 3V3) are shorted now. SO i wanna ask what had happened bcz I had all correct connecions ☹, and if u can give any suggestion to solve the issue. Will replacing the chip and regulator a good idea and should i do so? Thanks in Advance.😊
The arduino Nano board that i have, uses the Atmel 328PB chip (newer variant) , SO i also want to ask that if i can replace it by 328P or only 328PB chip.?
It sounds to me like something happened to draw a lot of current through the board, and possibly because it's a cheap clone that went faulty. Personally I wouldn't bother repairing this one and buy another because the cost and time of replacing the components will be more than a new Nano. I only try and recover a nano if there is a sketch running on it that I don't have and can't upload to another device, otherwise it's not cost effective.
will you tell me that when i pluged my arduino nano to usb in arduino nano led rx and pow led are only turn on...... and thats why its not detect by the pc and says windows did not recognized......... so what is the problem with my arduino nano and what is the solution
Aian Frago the cludge diode is just one I had hanging about in my toolbox. The proper diode is an S4 but I think I put an IN48 in there. It was a long time ago now.
respect, this turned out to be the problem. nano's are probably not completely made to go duck-taped on model rockets.

you can also power it with the gnd and 5v pins externaly whithout replacing the diode.

I use 1N4148, measured value 556 mA and works fine. Burned diode has value 1120 mA and arduino wont run. Thank you.

Too much Ampere. Change the power supply with low ampere rating
