Just watched this the other day. It was the first horror movie in a while to get a genuine reaction out of my. Wasn't scared more just a wtf this is crazy, and the acting is so good. I was getting so stressed about every interaction towards the end, so good.
Definitely in my top 5 horror movies of all time. One of my top 25 films of all time. It’s so unique and I adore the fuck out of this movie. So special. This year has had some of the best movies of all time and this is just a flip note of the year

That scene where the brother gets possessed and tries to kill himself...OMG!!! My hands were over my face but I had to see what was going to happen! Such an unbearably tense and hard to watch scene!

Mike just to let you know it was not a a24 movie. a24 bought it after festival run. the youtuber brothers and friends made it and then it got word of mouth and got into festivals and a24 purchased it.
This entire movie made me hate the main character so god damn much, I hated everyone at that party… don’t get me wrong 12/10 movie, but Jesus I hated their decisions😭her mommy issues had me soo angryyyyy

Also, it was mias mom at first in Riley. But as soon as mias hand touched him, that’s when he started choking. Because the spirit in Mia took over. And that’s why Mia’s ‘mom’ kept looking worse and worse every time. Because the foot sucking lady couldn’t keep the imitation very long.

The directors and writers really rejuvenated a genre teetering on death. One of the smartest moves A24 has done is buy this and distribute it.
