Nick going from "we should build one of these today for a celebrity" to "wait, this was all just for 1 guy!" in the same video is unintentionally hilarious.
We actually learned about this in college. Every 20-30 years the Nile would flood, leaving a bunch of farmers out if work, so the pyramids functioned as an ancient jobs program (evidence found in the housing of the pyramid workers shows they weren't enslaved). Construction relied on massive cylinders running along the sides of the pyramids (you can still see their outlines today). Basically, construct a giant block, move the block into the cylinder, seal the botttom of the cylinder, fill the cylinder with water, seal the top, and the block will float to the top (same idea as filling a straw with water and plugging the top, the water stays put). Basically, it's an ancient elevator. Look up "How the pyramids were really built part 1" for a more detailed explanation (posted 11 years ago, about 9 mins long)

In the 4th grade my substitute teacher was from india and my whole class convinced her that the middle finger is a way of saying hello in canada. Probably the best school day i ever had.

You didn’t need a pyramid to enter the afterlife but preparing for death was a defining part of Egyptian culture, for most people this meant performing rites and living well, for the elite (and almost everyone by cleopatras’ time) it meant mummification and performing weird dnd like spells and adventures, also they may not have been slaves but being a peasant in a society where your king is your god is basically indistinguishable, also the bodies were moved from the pyramids to the valley of kings because they getting looted like crazy, and local officials etc were getting in on it
The pyramids never had bodies in them to begin with. every burial chamber ever found has had hieroglyphs all over, yet the pyramids of Giza have no hieroglyphs. there's nothing to ever suggest that they pyramids were tombs, it's just the only explanation the so called experts could come up with for why they would ever build such a thing. There is also nothing found that even alludes to ancient Egyptians building the pyramids of Giza. There's hieroglyphs depicting all the other shit they built, including the later smaller pyramids that are barely standing now, but nothing of Giza..

If what we are lead to believe is true and Khufu was buried in the great pyramid, why no hieroglyphs? they are supposedly an important part in guiding the dead into their next life, yet none exist in the Giza pyramids

As to whether Ancient Egyptians had drugs - the simple answer is yes. They had alcohol, opium/morphine, some lotus products had psychoactive effects. They grew hemp for ropemaking but there's little evidence as to whether they used hashish or not. Also, there's one study of mummies that found nicotine and cocaine present but there was no trans-Atlantic trade way back then, so it's more than likely that mishandling contaminated them.
