Lemmy was old school, a person not tainted by stardom. he never classed himself any better than his audience and that is why he was much loved as a person.
If you watch the Lemmy documentary you see that Lemmy's apartment was full of stuff like a ton of stuff but the people ask him of everything in here what's your most favorite and he looks to his son and says it's his son. I loved that moment it was so touching later on Paul even said he was speechless when Lemmy said that.
His apartment was full of WW 2 memorabillia. Swords, knives, guns. Infact he had one of the most impressive knife and sword collections in the western hemisphere. Probably worth atleast 1.5 million dollars. Not including his music stuff. They sat on the couch beside his son and the interviewer asked "whats the most valuable posession in your apartment" and without skipping a beat he says "my son" with no thought at all. Very moving and touching.
ill be honest, I'm not a Motorhead music fan....however, Lemmy as a person is probably one of the most sincere and genuine people out there. to never compromise his vision and what he enjoyed playing is astounding in an industry with so much pressure to write a "hit"!....he never waivered. for that, im a Lemmy Fan!!!
Thank you for this comment. All I can say is try to listen to their music with the most open mind. I love everything from Opera to Thrash and Motorhead is still one of the shining stars in the firmament.
This hit me hard. I shared a birthday with Lemmy, to lose him just days after one hell of a shock for this life long fan. Lemmy, gone but no way forgotten. Forever in my heart dude xx
Even if you weren't a fan of Motörhead or Lemmy, there's a certain amount of respect you've got to have for the dedication he had to his craft and lifestyle. I'm sure he knew that one day it would catch up to him,and when it finally did, like his son said,he went with his boots on. Much respect to you Lemmy.wherever you are. Thanks for the music mate.
I had the pleasure of seeing Motorhead in concert on 7 occasions and loved them. From watching the video I got the impression that Lemmy was someone who didn't just live for his music, but also for the legions of hard rock and heavy metal fans. Motorhead were a unique band who had a unique performer in their stalwart and will live long in the memory of everybody, immaterial of what their musical tastes are.
Thats real nice, his son is a gentleman and so well spoken. Just shows you that Rock n Roll breeds the best people. Lemmy must have been so proud of his son.
We met Lemmy more years that I care to remember. He was a very kind of person add very down to Earth. My friend's son has disabilities and he took time out at the hotel to speak to him.
You don't get any more genuine than Lemmy. A man that lived exactly who he was every single day. Finding the strength to go on stage when anyone else would not be able to stand up. Legend.
I met Lemmy at the Rainbow in September 1993 while playing with pacman, at that moment smeel like teen spirit passed and he beat time with his foot tight in the boots that I believe were some kind of snake, I greeted him and he replied we made a small toast with glasses and I stood there watching while he played, all with an incredible naturalness, a very beautiful memory of a rock star of the people.
+Muppio It's all I've listened to since I heard the news...it was hard at first, but I figured it was the way he would want his fans to mourn/celebrate him.
mary vee I need to watch the movie again, I haven't since he died...could be tough to get through. I have dearly loved that guy (and the guys in the band) for decades and it almost feels like I've lost someone in my family. Pretty weird since I never got to meet him, but he has that kind of impact on people. I often told my GF that we should figure out when he would be off tour and go to Cali and see him at the Rainbow, but sadly it never happened.
If I found out the earth was about to be obliterated by an asteroid in a couple of minutes the one song I would like to listen to is Lemmy singing Silver Machine with Hawkwind in the early seventies. A true gentleman.
what a sweet soul his son is. gentle and real. i know very little about Lemmy, but through Metallica. but i am just commenting on this moment here. what a lovely person, and he is so innocent here, answering questions. i love this .
Lemmy is what legends are made off. He will live with us for all our lives through his music. He was and always will be what Rock N Roll is. He was the real deal , he didn't have no real graces , cos he didn't need them , cos he was a genuinely nice guy , was always there , and a lot of things he has said to interviewers through his life , i still live to even now. R.I.P Lemmy , you will be sorely missed.xx
A true legend ....the man was a real inspiration I hope that his son will one day step in his boots and pick up wear his dad left off as his son is also good with a mic and a bass .. I wish his family all the best...long live motor head
I remember spotting Lemmy many times back in 1990 sitting in the back corner of the bar… at The Rainbow. I didn’t go there much anymore after that, after leaving California around when the metal scene died. Moved back there in the 2000s, and only stopped by there for lunch with an old band mate - but I never did see him again. I even played with a band upstairs in the V.I.P. area, but never saw Lemmy again - or another regular, Billy Idol.
Performing for Lemmy I believe was his Lifeline! Performing in front of 1000's of people that loved him dearly is what pumped life into him. I love him and miss him greatly.🤘🏻
After Kiss sold out which wasn't that bad, I needed a real band that lived what they sang. (MOTORHEAD). Still happy to listen here and say a few words about my favorite ROCK AND ROLL Band. Were MOTORHEAD we play ROCK and roll.!!!
Wow, Still feel that inner pull each time Lemmy is mentioned, I feel for his son and Lemmy's gf, (Can't remember her name). Wow is all I can truly say..... Rest In Peace Lemmy
as much as I love Lem, stop just comparing Paul to him and all that, he's his own independant person and you're not listening to the things he's saying here.
I meat lemme in in 1991 in Houston. Just played to about 10k people and was outside talking to people smoking cigarettes and being just so nice. I was 16 and he treated me and others just like old friends. RIP LEMMY you made your mark in a world very few do.
i relaly like paul he seems like a really awesome sweet dude and what he said in the lemmy movie about having lemmy and not his stuff( lem said " one day all this wil be yours. in reference to all the ":stuff" in the apartment..I had the extremely good fortne to enjoy two times with lemmy and motorhead in pdx shooting the band for my cable show ( some of it is on my pgae here) and what other guy (besides john gallagher of raven the other nicest guy in rock ever.. ill have ya know..) ) would hand you his bass and say have a go .. and then drag ya up to the stage and do the same thing after its plugged in?... maybe its cus im also a bass player singer mikkey dee was familiar with... whatever it was paul here got the genes and his speech at the memorial was the best of the day... best wishes to ya paul.. you are a good man you cant hide that one...
Spot on, he sure does. His facial features and also the hat Paul is wearing looks like RVZ's trademark hat. The Texas Hatters "High Roller". Good call:)
I met yer father aye backstage barrowlands glesga I saw motor head millions times pal mad lemmy so doon tae, earth he loved here in Scotland you like yer da by the way xx
It is hard to fathom for sure. Damn you Cancer. I do think that the Hollywood Vampired did a good job with their tribute to Lemmy Kilmister. Without Lemmy Motorhead will never be the same, in my opinion anyways. Lemmy was a good person to the end. R.I.P Lemmy Kilmister
Gone but never forgotten, Jimi Hendrix, Bon Scott, Ronnie Van Zant, Duane Allman, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jon Bonham, Keith Moon, John Entwistle, Kurt Cobain, Jim Morrison, Ronnie James Dio, Frank Zappa, David Bowie, Janice Joplin, Glenn Frey, and of course most of all, Lemmy. These people were prodigies, innovators of their own particular sound and style. What would the world be like without them. It's sad to realize there is no one to fill their shoes. It's even sadder to see who wants to fill their shoes. What's sadder still is who is being recognized now as worthy to fill these shoes.

Paul seems like a good dude, just like his old man. RIP LEMMY
He looks just like his dad. RIP Lemmy. You were a great man and artist and your legacy will live on forever.
+Steven Staniszewski he really does. I will miss Lemmy forever.
+Jana Tweedy bollocks, he looks or sounds nothing like his dad
+Vernon Robinson He is the spitting image of him. His expressions really remind me of him. I actually met Lemmy once so I disagree with you.
Yeah I never, been a motorhead fan since 79, Lemmy was the double of my uncle and not related lol
+Steven Staniszewski actually yes, he's a few years of whisky from lemmys voice away but he would defenitly be a good singer.

Ditto here dude, never was a Motorhead fan but loved Lemmy
Thank you for this comment. All I can say is try to listen to their music with the most open mind. I love everything from Opera to Thrash and Motorhead is still one of the shining stars in the firmament.
lemmy would sign autographs for hours...just smiling and thanking fans..
