I hesitated for SO long to create this video because I thought there wasn't anything 'interesting' to share... but I do think it's important to show how simple a bullet journal can be! How do you plan?
Hi Tina! I myself bullet journal mainly for creativity, and the added bonus is a system for planning. I totally get the temptation to be intimidated by super pretty spreads on the internet. I used to copy them in my bullet journal and then get disappointed when they didn't turn out. Thank you for this video! It is great inspiration to remember that bullet journaling is for each person's needs and no two will be alike, nor should they!
It was interesting!! Thank u so much u inspired me, I always feel intimidated by other ppl’s bullet journals , but yours is so beautiful thank u so much for sharing it with us!!
This was the most awesome video! I have grown to sincerely feel sick 🤢 about the BUJO community online. The level of perfectionism/comparison that I feel exists, I personally find toxic for my creativity/ creative fire (as you so beautifully state it). I avoid it quite a bit now. I hope this video will find some bullet journalers and give them a deep fresh breath of air!!
Tina, Tina, Tina! 💜 I don’t think you realize how delightful it is to get a glimpse of your bullet journal! Your journaling style in general is so refreshing to me and I feel so represented in your content as someone who just needs to writes! I cannot be bothered with decorating, otherwise I fall into a shame spirale because it’s "ugly", and I rip the pages (nothing wrong if someone is into decorating and making aesthetic journals, of course. It just gives me so much pressure to perform and anxiety!). I love this video and I wish it could have been longer tbh, I love watching your old flip throughs, they are so inspiring. 💛💕
not boring!! it's the joy of living that you 'put out' whatever the topic!! I do nearly the exact in a standard insert. My 'tabs' are week, quotes [just in case], and 'need' for that random shopping or random random. easy peasy!! I have a leather cover for the insert graveyard because the randoms are some sort of memory keeper and LOTS of inserts when done can be crammed into one cover. definitely the to-dos can be captured simply!!
I am all for functional bullet journaling. The pretty stuff is great, if you need an outlet for your creative needs, and/or if you have the time, but if your core planning system isn't functional it just does not work.
I feel like bullet journaling is more so of a hobby instead of functionality bc it's so into the idea of being aesthetic & perfect. Having a billion supplies & it all becomes too much & frustrating ;( .. I remember I decided to give it a go & felt not so enjoyable & forced. I went a few years without journaling even or would journal once a month which broke my heart because I use to write everyday, more than once :'( however as of last year I started journaling again except I now use smaller journals & pretty much this is my "set up": - intro: I write to myself what my goal(s) is with this journal & what I hope to accomplish - monthly cover: I use 2pgs, pick a color, & just decorate them to separate each month Other than that I just write & write. I pour my mind, heart, & soul. I free write. I paste down random things (stickers, drawing, receipts, color paper, etc) & continue to write. I use a few prompts here & there but mostly it's my personal diary. I end the section of the month by reflecting about it & welcome a new one :).. wish I could show you but yeah. I really like your take into bujo & how you make it your own. as always writing & journaling is free, had no rules, & to each their own
Okaaay but seriously, you have no idea how much I love this video 😅 While ultimately I really don’t care how people choose to journal, I will admit that sometimes I get just a little annoyed with seeing “hyper-aesthetic” (word I just made up, lool) bullet journals! I don’t even bullet journal, but seeing a never-ending stream of picture perfect bullet journals online basically convinced me that it was something I never even had a desire to get into, because though they all were undoubtedly beautiful, it all just felt a little too manicured for me. So this is all to say basically that I *deeply* appreciate you making this video! Your perspective on this all is just so refreshing and really resonates with me- it even makes me *almost* want to try bullet journaling. Almost. But yeah, just know that you’re totally my newfound bullet journal inspiration Tina! 😉 I really love just how no-frills it is for you- the part about your bullet journal supplies (or rather, your relative lack thereof) definitely made me laugh!
Okay, this video was the best thing ever. I’ve always loved your channel, but this honestly just touched my heart and made me feel like I don’t have to feel bad for not having a “aesthetic” bullet journal 💕💕💕💕
What an awesome video!! I used to bullet journal but have recently stopped as I find I work best if I have an open planner displayed on my desk, otherwise what tends to happen is my bujo would stay closed on my desk and I’d forget to even check it or use it. I love the simplicity of your spreads!
Love this. When I first started bullet journaling I fell into the decoration trap and bought stencils and stamps and all that nonsense. The only tool I actually use now is a ruler and I'm just fine with that. It's been a great tool for organizing my day but it's just that, a tool. Carpenters don't go around decorating their hammers, there's no reason to get caught up in decorating a bullet journal.
I love this!!! Mine is simple as well, just a monthly calendar, budget tracker. And my movie, series and reading log. Is all I need at the moment. When I was studying the weekly spreads were essential but now I don't need them. I've accepted to add what I need, no drawings no imagines either, sometimes I do if I feel like it but is almost never. I think this is the point of it, to make it as simple or fancy that you want. 💖💖💜💜
This is exactly the sort of video I love to see from you! Real journaling tips and ideas that you can actually be productive with. This is really inspiring me to make my own for when I start the second year of my course for tracking assignments, placements, etc. Thank you for sharing! 🥰
You mean the most useful bullet journal ever, very refreshing to see a simple bullet journal, in the bujo community everything gives me a headache of how perfect it can be and creative, when it should be simple. Makes me want to try this method. Thanks for sharing
I love to sketch but not in my bullet journal. We have a very similar style. This year I’m using a hobonichi weeks which is nice because I don’t have to draw anything out. But my previous years looks just like this!!!! Perfection!!
Looks like a normal bullet journal to me. This is why I usually end up watching bullet journal videos by the guys. Love us ladies, but we can get so extra sometimes 😂
I love looking at peoples’ fancy bullet journals. But mine has to be very plain and simple. Decoration distracts and annoys me. I use a Sharpie pen and an Exceed notebook. My layouts are very repetitive. But it works great for me!
I used to try bullet journal, but it's o So overwhelming doing spread and stuff. Feel so down with my poor aesthetic and design. So I have a planner I bought and I do some doodle and decorate with few stickers if she want and that's all!
The original bullet journal method is very basic and minimal - it was designed as an analogue method to support or increase work productivity. Later on it was embraced by others who wanted to add productivity tools (calendar, events, trackers) into art journals - and those “spreads” are probably what you’re used to seeing…but that’s a hybrid of bullet journaling, not the original method. I suggest start with the method itself, that’s the true skeleton, and then you can choose to add/incorporate decorative elements or not - maybe your decorative elements are simple underlining or geometric boxes or line dashes, all in monochrome black pen - simple and very minimalistic lines can be a gorgeous decorative effect (Art Deco, Frank Lloyd Wright). Kawaii stickers or drawings and watercolour paint aren’t everyone’s planner aesthetic, and you can absolutely keep a bullet journal that’s beautiful in its simplicity.
I literally just sat down to work on my July bullet journal and clicked on this video for company. Couldn’t be more timely. I’ve got a bunch of juggling and changes to make, and was procrastinating. Now I feel better about just getting it done and forgetting about the pretty, at least for now. I do leave pages open for inspiration, which can work (if I remember them). My early bullet journals were much more focused than current ones, but also more spontaneous. Neither good nor bad, but the process definitely evolves, hopefully to suit my needs. Thanks for the reminder not to over-think it. 🐢
Do you actually use the bullet system though? I don’t see you migrating a lot of tasks (but you might just be good at planning how much you can actually do in a day ;)). Lovely yellow ribbon in the notebook! What a ray of sunshine.
I just started reading his book to learn more about Bullet Journaling. Thank you for sharing your journal! If I do decide to go for it, it will be simple like yours. At the end, do you keep your bullet journals? Or do you toss them since it’s more of a planner?
I'm also a very simple planner! This video was refreshing! I was just curious...do you save your bullet journals when done? I am always back and forth on whether or not I want to save my daily planners.
I hesitated for SO long to create this video because I thought there wasn't anything 'interesting' to share... but I do think it's important to show how simple a bullet journal can be! How do you plan?

indeed. :)

My favorite type of bullet journal!!!
We LOVE a simple bujo!! That's 100% my style as well.

Very good! I love the simplicity.
Honestly…I love the simplicity! 💚💚 Also in the future you should do another book video. Im curious what you’ve been reading since your last one 💚

I'm so lazy I buy an at an glance large print that looks like your bujo

Where is your stencil from?
Mine is similar. Lol 😂
Have you and Brie (Documented Journey) ever considered doing a collab video? Just a thought!
I'm also a very simple planner! This video was refreshing! I was just curious...do you save your bullet journals when done? I am always back and forth on whether or not I want to save my daily planners.
