Players confident and strong enough to shield the ball can control a game because they are doing everything at their own pace, never in a rush. An especially important quality for central midfielders. Ndombele has proved he's a top player.

@@kaung_myat_zaw7302 In last matches played 75 (?) and 80 minutes. In my opinion he can be on the pitch longer and longer. And he hasn't been injuried so many times like Lo Celso in this season.

The only thing about him is he has all the ability to go past 2 or 3 men every time he receives the ball but you get the feeling sometimes that he just can’t be bothered and takes the easy pass for long spells every game. If he can start trying to penetrate more often he’s gunna be up there with KDB and Fernandes
You don't want a player that tries to dribble every time they get on the ball it ends up being selfish you want a player that choses to take on players in the right situations that will lead to goalscoring chances not just dribbling for the sake of it. Simple passes keep possession and allow players to reserve energy. He's got a way to go before he hits De Bruynes level that man is just different class, but yeah he's got the potential to be in that bracket with time, he's been one of our best players this season alongside Son, Kane and Hojbjerg.
it's a problem with pace, his main draw is that he can use physicality and shifting of momentum to ward off players. in terms of style, you can see some similarities with grealish except grealish has the pace to drive the ball forward. only son has any real ability to drive the ball forward, everyone else has to rely on long passes. moura can a little but he has problems with keeping the ball
It's really hard to drive when you're tired and your legs don't cooperate
He is a bit Demble-esque.. But he relies on skill, quick feet & body movement, whereas Dembele was more skill and strength.
As Spurs fan I've seen some special players like Modric, Dembele or Eriksen. Ndombele is the most talented one I've ever seen.

Definitely similar style of play in terms of using the body to protect the ball but Zidane was much more elegant than this. Ndomble is a bit more erratic, while Zidane resembled a ballet dancer lol.

Frustrating to watch the game when he loses the ball but on the off chance he pulls a dribble off he always delivers an assist or a direct chance to score.

And to think deluded fans wanted this guy sold, even though he didn't even have a full season and was injured. Ndombele is only 24 give him a couple more years in the PL and he will be a dominant force, we are just seeing glimpses of what he is capable of. Followed him since Lyon, so glad the club signed him an absolute baller, the closest we are going to get since Dembele.

@@davidcochrane6122 I'm 6'4 and I have to rely on strength to shield the ball massively when dribbling, jinking past players with such bad agility is a struggle lol. It's a big part of his game aswell but his agility is still top class despite being fairly big. He reminds of when we had Dembele who was just unbelievably good on the ball.
