I love that Fauna immediately goes for the “do you believe me?”-bit. No gaslighting, no lying, not getting angry, just straight to the bargaining stage.
Fauna confusing the gingerbread cottage from Hansel and Gretel with the hut on chicken legs from Baba Yaga is peak Fauna. On an unrelated note, her singing has really improved!
gwent is actually garbage in TW3. Either completely unfair or way too easy depending on the difficulty. The actual Gwent game that spun-off TW3 is pretty solid but my god did they neglect the minigame. Fauna isn't exactly a novice in these kind of games. I think she recognizes the horror.
Tbh, I hated Gwent at first and ignored it when I was first playing the game. Then when I came across the Gwent tournament arc, I realized that I needed to have a good deck to proceed, so I went back to one of my early saves and undid a lot of my progress just so could have a better deck. In short, I now love playing Gwent, but I can relate to Fauna’s irritation with it as well.
I used to think gwent was hard but is pretty easy once you narrow down the basics. All you have to do is build the nilfguard and the Nothern realms decks then skellige once you get to blood and wine. I hope she plays the dlc too.
Gwent can be really annoying when you don't get how certain decks/cards works, and I had a similar experience for some time on my first play through. The moment everything clicks in your head, you will just go full Yu-Gi-Oh!.
Northern deck is not good starting out but if you make a smaller deck (25ish cards) and concentrate on buffin/defending your ballistas you can make do. Specially with the second leader card
The starting deck is easy to upgrade, and it's probably the best faction throughout the game. Nilfgard is the only other faction on par with Northern Realms.
I have been playing cards games my whole life but when I played some gwent matches I finished this game and the DLCs without playing any quest of Gwent
Fauna's just gotta change her perspective on Gwent. It's not gambling, it's free EXP for playing a children's card game. She'll get addicted to the taste of victory one day.

Its very easy once you get the hang of it and better cards, it can be luck of the draw sometimes though (unless you go for spy strats, wich you should btw)
The one thing I hated about Witcher 3, the fact that going into NG+ didn't let you keep your Gwent deck. I really didn't wanna collect all the cards again, so I just gave up on it. I wanted to go through the game again and absolutely demolish every gwent player.
It's a bit. She's playing as straight edge Geralt who hates drinking and gambling. Could also be her playful way of getting the Gwent super fans to chill out a bit.
@@leonrussell9607 I mean, there are a lot of coins and stuff just laying around. Some map vacuuming and she can have everything she want. They specifically added very expensive quests and recipes in DLCs, just to give players a way to spend their nearly infinite piles of orens.
You know I've never before had the urge to backseat and didn't understand why people did it but having several hundred hours in this game specifically I get it now. I'm still not gonna do it mind you but the urge is there now. I hope she enjoys it though, great game.
With the way Fauna is playing the game so far, one would daresay that a hint of backseating may help her a bit. Or at least to better ease her into the game's setting. Coming from a one-time formerly naive Witcher 3 player, the game is rather punishing for the unprepared, not just in gameplay but especially in emotional reaction. It would do well for her to realise that the Witcher setting is much harsher and more decision-impacted than Skyrim is and think on that, before she makes one too many mistakes and leaves her completely in the backfoot once she reached Skellige, let alone the final act. Lastly, I would like to see what she would do on Fyke Isle, as that quest was the point of revelation for me back then.
@@anonymousmind8402 as tempting as it is to offer input I don’t want to be that guy who gives unsolicited advice. The game is best experienced trial and error I messed up the first time on fyke isle as well and it’s an exciting reveal that hey you can mess up. That’s what’s going to make it worth watching tbh, I’d give quite a bit to experience the game for the first time again. Fyke isle is a real wake up call that the game and its content can be botched. Rather refreshing to have impact on the player and narrative for a change.

Do you understand the appeal of streamers? What about Anime? You just mix those together. That's the appeal. After that you really just have to find a personality you like.
@@Jeremy_Fisher the personalities are all the same, it's so bizarre, the expression and animations are all so, generic and baron. Gwent is love. Gwent is life. Embrace Gwent.

Its roleplaying value in the game is unparalleled.
