Also most Greek myths we have are reinterpreted and are not the original versions, because most Greek religions were cults so they kept a lot of the stuff they actually believed secret unless you joined, and so we often don't have the full story, or we may have a biased point of view. People who worshiped Eros might have wanted to make him more powerful so they added him being a primordial god... Or the more likely explanation, Aphrodite worshipers made him her son in order to make her more powerful because she was originally Ishtar ported over to Greece and needed to build up a following all over again.
Fun Greek lore: kronus killed his father ouranos, and then castrated him (chopped his balls off) and ouranos balls fell into the sea and Aphrodite was born from the seafoam from the balls. This is actual Greek lore btw.
