Sonic has always been part of me since forever. I have almost all the games and watched most of the tv shows, i’m so glad this franchise is getting the love it deserves after seeing the amazing sequel movie that came out.
I love that now there's a good evolution for this great character, despite being new to the character (3 years), I still have played the Genesis games, and he was important to my "childhood", I have watched all the tv shows. So glad that the character is getting love with the movie sequel.
This video is great, but I just wanna correct a couple of quick errors: Amy had her hammer since Sonic Championship. Also, Sonic Unleashed had 2D segments in the Daytime stages.
It's hard to believe anyone could've been more recognizable than Mickey Mouse, but I find it fitting that someone with the same artstyle as him would do so.
@@evanbutiforgot it's because Mickey mouse is more of an icon then a character that people care about so it's not that hard to have your character be more popular then Mickey mouse as long as kids are actively watching them and have a iconic design well that's my theory at least (a game theory)
While the Marioverse of Nintendo will always be my top favorite, Sonic is a strong, close second. And if anything, the fact that Sega was more open to outside adaptions than Nintendo is made the character more accessible to those who didn't even play his games initially. We're still getting Sonic cartoon series when Mario's last one was decades ago and not very good.

one minor correction with Sonic's inclusion in Smash Bros. is that he was actually not the first non-Nintendo guest character to be featured, he was the second. the first being Solid Snake. Sonic's inclusion was actually a decision late in development that caused the game to be delayed a few months so he could be programed in. But overall I really liked this Cartoon/Pop Culture Evolution. you touched on some media of sonic I didn't even know about. Great job overall!

My favorite Sonic game is Sonic Generations. As far as the television content, it’s always been a tie between Sat-AM and Sonic X, though Sonic Boom has some genuinely hilarious moments and I appreciate how tongue-in-cheek and self aware it got in season 2.
I especially enjoyed the fourth wall breaks the characters do during the show's run, the fourth wall breaks became so funny that they made it a running gag in the series that nobody could not watch without laughing at the best comedic moments, including the AOSTH reference in one episode where Eggman says "Pingas" as he says "snooping as usual I see?" to Sonic.

Sonic and Mario are both some of my most favorite video game franchises. It’s so sweet to see that years after they jabbed at each other, that they got to star in several games together.
There was also an 8 bit version of the original Sonic the Hedgehog game that debuted the same year as it's 16 bit counterpart. That version was also for the Master System and Game Gear. Which that appeared to be the final Master System game released in North America.
Sonic is just so recognizable im glad that the sonic franchise is still going looking forward to the new games especially sonic origins and more movies and sonic prime.

Yeah I feel like since they made Sonic Fronteirs I feel like they’ll fix the character developments and maybe give them new models while following the original character designs, although they did redesign the four main characters for Sonic Boom but failed.
A really amazing pop culture evolution on Sonic the Hedgehog I may never play one of the games but however I do remember watching Sonic Boom back in 2015 on Boomerang along with other shows at the time like Shaun the Sheep, be cool Scooby-Doo, The Garfield Show, and even a few episodes of DreamWorks Train Your Dragon. I did see the first trailer and I was excited and looking the criticism on Sonic's original CGI realistic design I can understand where they're coming from I personally like the final design better and the Sonic the Hedgehog movie from 2020 is absolutely great same goes to Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and I do remember seeing one episode on Sonic X back in mid or late 2021. It's amazing that Sonic the Hedgehog has been around over 30 years and still continuing to this day.
One thing to note is that when creating sonic they came up with some other ideas like a bunny that could grab stuff with his ears. This was shelved so they could focus on finding a good mascot but was later tooken off the shelf and turned into the game Ristar. You play as a stare with stretchy arms who is way slower than sonic but way easier to control. I definitely would like to see a sequel/reboot to it.

There’s a few errors 1. The first Sonic game to be released on a non Sega console was Sonic Pocket Adventure for the Neo Geo Pocket 2. Sonic Team didn’t create Sonic 4, that was made by Dimps, the guys that made the Advance and Rush games

Sonic has always been my favorite videogame franchise and I consider it far better than Mario ever was. Sure it's been far from perfect, but he's always gotten back up and kept on fighting the competition with that same optimism and determination! For 18 years I've been a fan of this blue blur and with the future looking even brighter with the first ever Open World game (Sonic Frontiers) as well as a remaster (Sonic Origins), a brand new high budget animated series (Sonic Prime), and a third live action movie in 2024, I'm always gonna be a fan! 💙

I loved this video! It was almost 40 minutes but I wanted to point out SegaSonic the Hedgehog (1993). It was an arcade game that allowed up to three players, and each character was controlled by spinning a trackball. Released only in arcades, this was the first time Sonic would appear in an isometric style. The other characters you could play as were Ray the Flying Squirrel and Mighty the Armadillo. They would not be seen again until Sonic Mania in 2017 in the form of "Missing" posters in select levels, but were later added in with the Sonic Mania Plus DLC as fully playable characters. I know the video focuses on Sonic, but I like to share this piece of the history.
The first Sonic game I ever played was Sonic Adventure 2, followed by Sonic Shuffle & Sonic Adventure, Sonic the Hedgehog, & Sonic Heroes. Recently, I imagined what could happen if Mickey & Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck & Goofy joined me in my Sonic games & other Sega games I played.
I remember how confusing having the 2 Sonic tv shows airing simultaneously was for me as a kid. 'Cause I only liked one of them! 😆I really loved the action-oriented Sonic the Hedgehog series with Princess Sally Acorn (I still remember the theme song) but, I hated the more slapstick Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog. In the local TV guides, they just listed both of the series as Sonic the Hedgehog so, every time I tried to watch it, I'd always cross my fingers that it would actually be the version of the show that I liked (obviously, I was like 7 years old so I never remembered which channel which version lived on). And I'd always be so disappointed when it was the wrong one! 🤣(I loved the Sonic comic books too! 😁) And you, actually, forgot to mention that you could also hook Sonic 2 into the Sonic and Knuckles game, as well (though the video kinda implied it). If you did that, you could play through all of Sonic 2 as Knuckles! 😊

I enjoy this video of sonic because I'm a sonic fan so I love the first sonic the hedgehog game and the series adventures of sonic the hedgehog was funny and wonderful so I can't wait for more of sonic in the future!
I always liked sonic, things coming full circle now as i myself was blown away by sonic 2 as a young kid, now i hope to blow my nephews mind with sonic 2 the movie (since I've previously introduced him to the classics, he enjoys playing team racing) we will see how things go on from there but im just happy that sonic is relevant again and that i can talk with others about it, even tho I'm more of my own local sonic lore master i do enjoy to hear others perspectives and views on sonic 😄
As for fave sonic...id have to say in animation its a tie with sonic CD/ Sonic the ova movie. Its the sonic I always wanted besides the Sat AM, Adventures and Boom, which all have hilarious moments and great intriguing characters! Plus I love Metal Sonic!
Cool fact: the bunny concept art of Sonic (the one that got scrapped due to technological restraints) was revisited with the later genesis character Ristar, a character similarly designed to Sonic that could use his stretchy arms to pick up enemies, objects, swing on poles and climb walls.
I have a Mario video coming closer to the release of the movie - might tackle Crash one day, but no current plans for him. I did recently do Sonic though!

I remember playing Sonic The Hedgehog 2 in Middle School. Sonic was also in a Crossover with Ok KO Lets Be Heroes on Cartoon Network
Out of the crossovers I've seen I didn't enjoy it I think the family guy Simpsons crossover was better than that crossover

Sonic is the coolest game character. He is funny, charismatic, awesome and incredibly fast.
There’s a few errors
1. The first Sonic game to be released on a non Sega console was Sonic Pocket Adventure for the Neo Geo Pocket
2. Sonic Team didn’t create Sonic 4, that was made by Dimps, the guys that made the Advance and Rush games

Sonic has always been my favorite videogame franchise and I consider it far better than Mario ever was. Sure it's been far from perfect, but he's always gotten back up and kept on fighting the competition with that same optimism and determination!
For 18 years I've been a fan of this blue blur and with the future looking even brighter with the first ever Open World game (Sonic Frontiers) as well as a remaster (Sonic Origins), a brand new high budget animated series (Sonic Prime), and a third live action movie in 2024, I'm always gonna be a fan! 💙
And my favorite sonic game is sonic adventure, sonic adventure 2, sonic heroes, sonic riders, sonic unleashed, sonic colors, sonic generations and more!
I can't wait for Sonic Origins! :D While i know Sonic from various media, i never played the games. I hope controls on PC will be good. :)
I loved this video! It was almost 40 minutes but I wanted to point out SegaSonic the Hedgehog (1993). It was an arcade game that allowed up to three players, and each character was controlled by spinning a trackball. Released only in arcades, this was the first time Sonic would appear in an isometric style. The other characters you could play as were Ray the Flying Squirrel and Mighty the Armadillo. They would not be seen again until Sonic Mania in 2017 in the form of "Missing" posters in select levels, but were later added in with the Sonic Mania Plus DLC as fully playable characters. I know the video focuses on Sonic, but I like to share this piece of the history.
The first Sonic game I ever played was Sonic Adventure 2, followed by Sonic Shuffle & Sonic Adventure, Sonic the Hedgehog, & Sonic Heroes. Recently, I imagined what could happen if Mickey & Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck & Goofy joined me in my Sonic games & other Sega games I played.

I remember how confusing having the 2 Sonic tv shows airing simultaneously was for me as a kid. 'Cause I only liked one of them! 😆I really loved the action-oriented Sonic the Hedgehog series with Princess Sally Acorn (I still remember the theme song) but, I hated the more slapstick Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog. In the local TV guides, they just listed both of the series as Sonic the Hedgehog so, every time I tried to watch it, I'd always cross my fingers that it would actually be the version of the show that I liked (obviously, I was like 7 years old so I never remembered which channel which version lived on). And I'd always be so disappointed when it was the wrong one! 🤣(I loved the Sonic comic books too! 😁)
And you, actually, forgot to mention that you could also hook Sonic 2 into the Sonic and Knuckles game, as well (though the video kinda implied it). If you did that, you could play through all of Sonic 2 as Knuckles! 😊

I enjoy this video of sonic because I'm a sonic fan so I love the first sonic the hedgehog game and the series adventures of sonic the hedgehog was funny and wonderful so I can't wait for more of sonic in the future!

I always liked sonic, things coming full circle now as i myself was blown away by sonic 2 as a young kid, now i hope to blow my nephews mind with sonic 2 the movie (since I've previously introduced him to the classics, he enjoys playing team racing) we will see how things go on from there but im just happy that sonic is relevant again and that i can talk with others about it, even tho I'm more of my own local sonic lore master i do enjoy to hear others perspectives and views on sonic 😄
As for fave sonic...id have to say in animation its a tie with sonic CD/ Sonic the ova movie. Its the sonic I always wanted besides the Sat AM, Adventures and Boom, which all have hilarious moments and great intriguing characters! Plus I love Metal Sonic!

Cool fact: the bunny concept art of Sonic (the one that got scrapped due to technological restraints) was revisited with the later genesis character Ristar, a character similarly designed to Sonic that could use his stretchy arms to pick up enemies, objects, swing on poles and climb walls.
