Someone that is still making genji videos after the patches ? Now that's a new sub you got from me. I love people's dedication to the game even a year plus after launch.
Quick tip that may help beginner genjis: In my experience, the "dash-rightclick-melee" combo is simply too slow. I see beginner genjis try to dash, then do the rightclick-melee anim cancel combo. Instead, try using just a "dash-melee" combo for a quick 80 dmg burst. No need to rush, there is plenty of time afterwards to follow up. Most of the time a "rightclick-melee" after dash either results in a miss in both shurikens and melee (as the target will move in the time of the anim to launch the shurikens) or in the time u use rightclick you could have spent double jumping to dodge a hook or smth, resulting in death. TL;DR: Use "dash-melee" instead of "dash-rightclick-melee." Its slower, but in reality u can make up for the lost dmg afterwards and this combo is overall faster. Gl in the future to everyone.
One small problem with this, (though I may have just missed it) it did not mention the simple way to shorten a dash by simply aiming at the point on the ground you wish to arrive at.
iSweat-Axion that's more of like a common sense tip. This guide is supposed to be specific and in depth. But yea, mentioning it once would help although I think most people know about that.
Should I engage with dash, throw shirukens first to damage them then dash or confirm kills with dash. I know when targets a low health I should confirm kills with dash but general engagements I am unsure how I should approach targets
spacedragon1234 usually just shoot at them until they are pretty low then go in and finish them. One exception to this is if they are alone and squishy, it's usually safe to dash early and fan them down. It's good to mix it up too though, keep enemies on their toes by sometimes dashing to land in front of them and deflecting immediately. Sometimes dash through, sometimes land in front. Be annoying.
Dash if you won't die, or if you are tradiging for something very super important (rare). If you can dash onto the target (check dmg guide for genji to see how) and can kill it, do it. If not then you must be sure you can get out alive. exampel is: It's allowed to dash onto a reinhardt and do a dmg combo (when both deathballs are standing still and just looking at each other) becuase you will be able to get back to your team. Ofc you are" wasting" dash but this is just an examepel
You should do a series where you review somebody playing genji, for example in comp, and try to help them improve.Since most of your channel is genji then they should only be playing mainly genji in that match.Since i main genji on a very low elo, i would really like some help to improve my rank,
Swipefly abuse the information in the videos so that you can better deal with genji. As a genji main, I have watched hundreds of torbjorn guides, so that I have some insight into how torb players think
That's a great idea dude!! I'm still learning to play genji and was thinking about this. For q&a: after how many months of daily practice do you think it will take to consider yourself a good genji? PS: awesome video 👊🏻
do you mean like dashing on the enemy ulting then swinging once, swift striking down to do 50 dmg then strike them again to confirm a kill or something else,
Only do that when you're nano boosted. It's two swings either way, so you're just wasting time if you add a dash into the combo. I'd say the main use of the Swift Strike while using Dragonblade, is movement from one hero to the next.
punk979 however if your attacking someone who has the potential to kill you, even if your not nano boosted, it is still good to dash sometimes to disorient your target so that they have a lower chance of killing you. However if you are just using it for damage, like you said, don't bother with the dash cancel
This is very good guide but I have one question why u throw sherukens < I hope I wrote the right spelling and dash then just quick melee instead of throw Sherukens then quick Melee ... sorry about the bad grammar or anything I can't speak English very good
Thank you for the vid, it was really helpful. But you know, I have 60h on Genji and constantly fail to kill somebody after a dash... maybe you have some tips of "when to NOT dashing into the enemy team"? ) I'm usually wasting it when I'm afraid of being instakilled by flashbang combo or hook or just when I try to contest and cant stay on the place for too long, then after I waste it, its usually the end. And, is it okay to dash into four fullhp enemies just to deal 200 damage and not to secure a kill?

The art of gtfo...
Your titles are sick XD
More people need to see this video, I always see horrible genjis who like to use their swift strike at random ass moments

Check my coaching serie, there you also get told how you can upload yourself :) thank you for feedback ^^
6:00 what is up with the nano mercy? O.o
it's either a miss-click or they wanted her to survive long enough to get res
I was wondering the same thing😂
but what if i don't want to play genji
Don't watch the video then

Pls tell me how he resets his swift strike without his ultimate
get a kill?
Im suprised u didn't mention the "dash into swordswing cancel" should be common usage for genji mains tbh
do you mean like dashing on the enemy ulting then swinging once, swift striking down to do 50 dmg then strike them again to confirm a kill or something else,
@ Master Gamer123 yep , swinging once then dash and swinging again . that´s how u get more swings from your dragonblade
Only do that when you're nano boosted.
