As an ad manager of large brands, I've had people contact me to take down ads across different sites. A lot of these people are doing it for a "cause" and contact many advertisers to pull out ads. It's annoying for everyone involved and raises tension between the clients and us because now we have to go and make sure we manually exclude a site/channel and do a full review of brand safety. These tactics are purely done to damage publishers (content creators) revenue and in some cases, the accusations can be false but advertisers will still freak out and would rather be safe than sorry. This will probably go without being read but I just wanted to say it to increase awareness of how easy it is for content creators to lose money.

They didnt like a competitor OS for OEMs that was faster and better(at that time Android was very buggy). They not only never released their services on Windows Phone, they also blocked 3rd party google sevices apps both from Microsoft(there youtube app was better than the official google one for android) and independent developers.

White family turned up near even results, even though searching for ''white families'', black or mixed families were presented near equally in the results. When searching for ''black family'' far down as i scrolled, every family was black, not even with an interracial couple present in the family photos.

Everyone gets an equal chance, YOU are responsible for what you make of it. So if it just happens that men tend to end up at certain places and woman at others, than that is fine if they had the same chance. As an ad manager of large brands, I've had people contact me to take down ads across different sites. A lot of these people are doing it for a "cause" and contact many advertisers to pull out ads. It's annoying for everyone involved and raises tension between the clients and us because now we have to go and make sure we manually exclude a site/channel and do a full review of brand safety. These tactics are purely done to damage publishers (content creators) revenue and in some cases, the accusations can be false but advertisers will still freak out and would rather be safe than sorry.
This will probably go without being read but I just wanted to say it to increase awareness of how easy it is for content creators to lose money.
I really hate when people like this are not shown to the public, it's like they and the public are worlds apart from each other, and that's why people stand up for things like this, and i'm glad that there are people like this.

People were feed a certain numbers of ideas during the cold war because it was beneficial for one side to wave " we are the side of democracy". But if we take that period out the table , the mechanics have always been the same. I have said this many times (as someone that studied the history of institutions), deplatforming, silencing or worse have always existed and the big difference today is that we are not crucifying people, burning them in the fires of inquisition etc. And all of this precedes any left or right.

Edit: also I've noticed a change in the recommended videos now where RUclips never recommends videos from the same channel that I'm currently watching. And its always recommending videos from the most popular list rather than videos that are related to what I have been watching. Or if it is videos that are related they are all ones I've watched already. In my opinion RUclips suggestions are messed up. It honestly ruins my watching experience because now I spend twice the amount of time searching for a good video than I do actually watching said video.

Mine have been like this for weeks. I basically have to remember to go directly to channels I want to watch and just open the videos in a new tab so I'm not led away by the next recommended video.
Agreed all the channels i did watch that had the conservative views dont show up any more and i get more recommended ones id never watch in the first place
Totaly the case, rolling these thought for a while now, glad you found words to express my concerns.
I had to start to change my viewing practices as well. Now I'm ending up completely ignoring the suggetions/recomendations unless it is the "from your subscriptions" category, and going straight into the channels videos tab and watching from there.

This is where _most people_ upload to, it is discrimination for them to selectively enforce arbitrary "hate speech".
Google should not have been allowed to acquire RUclips because it was a violation of antitrust law.
