One a lion, the other one a wolf. Both get screwed by their respective creators. I don't think I have a lot to add to the discussion since I'm still new to Arknights, and never did delve too deep with Genshin's combat system.
the issue here is that Vigil's wolfpack is geared to be a glass cannon and they severely undertuned it in several ways first off, while being able to hold 3 mobs seems like a good attribute it means it will get killed very quickly (again glass cannon), funnily enough Vigil wasn't the only case that was added into the event as the Crusher branch also debuted there and had similar problems... Thought despite that, Quartz and Wind Chimes can actually be healed. The wolf pack cannot and instead has to rely on passive regen from Bards. The general idea is that instead of being outright tanky, the wolfpack instead revives itself if it dies, but that has its own limitation and also makes the added block count a liability because on top of the fragility, it also is a leak risk the S1 is likely his best skill as it effectively doubles the amount of shadows per refresh, meaning it can somewhat reliably block 2 every 25s give or take, but using it means you lose out of the offensive benefits of S3 and by extension any point of E2ing him. If he was in the gacha, it would end up a mix of Passinger's initial reception and the salt that came with Nian's banner. But it is not hopeless to use him, S1 aside, asmentioned before, Skalter and other bards can heal the wolfpack, and the same is true for Perfumer and Angelina's talents. And of course Silence the Paradigmatic can make the wolves temporarily immortal (though that has its own issues since she debuts alongsides Muelsyse) and as a 6* he is entitled to two mod lines, so here's hoping the second one can redeem him.
Nice breakdown! With all being said though, I still find it hard to find a use for him when there's a better operator in every niche scenario he can face. This guy has it rough.
Oh, god, not just that! - The ability that makes you lose control of your character is already quite bad, but then that ability stop when you jump, or when frozen. - Somehow, you can't stack up specific buffs on her, like Ei's passive doesn't work during punching. - Speaking of which, her skill 1 acts like Ei, but has a very long interval - Stats scaling issues - and many more... Even now, everyone is begging Mihoyo to fix her on Twitter. But most likely, they wouldn't. Otherwise, they wouldn't just cast her into Standard Banner. Indeed, at least Vigil is free.
The worst thing about him is that as bad as he is he's also very easy to fix just make the wolves revive time half of the regular tactician's pet rev time. (7 seconds) cuz his pet is half as tanky as them. But knowing that in arknights no operator gains buffs or debuffs except in some rare situation (the chain caster buff) or modules I don't see vigil being usable in most of the maps unless you build your team to carry him.
Exactly! He could be a semi-Dollkeeper Specialist who has a wolf that just won't die like Spectre Alt or Kazemaru. I think at 6 stars, he should be allowed to have two wolves or have the wolves explode on "death". Anything is better than this!
Unfortunately i e2ed him before his title as the worst 6 star came out so im kinda stuck with him until i get a suitable vangaurd to replace him but hes been useful to me so far during my run in the reed alter event stages
Well, he's not useless and I'm far from chastising someone to actually enjoy using him in stages. People have different reasons to play the game non-optimally, as a challenge or just because they like the character. The most important thing is having fun. But in my lineup, I would rather pick a 4* DP printer and another DPS than playing him.
Ik cc11 is over, but you will see that map again in practice maps in cc between seasons. Don't block the fireballs. Nothing needs to be in the middle lane. Let them pass, and use a ranged unit to deal with the middle lane, just block the entrances on the top and bottom. If you still want to use a tactician, use blacknight, or wait and pull for muelsyse.
Hehe, yeah! I did manage to beat it just like that. Knowing that there are only two Monstrosities, I can just let them pass through and just deploy all my Snipers at the top.
I saw your cc11 video after, but you did take a more roundabout method. I completely forgot about the pillars, so a vanguard + sniper + medic on top lane and everyone else attacking the bottom and middle lane intersection did it for me. Your strategy is clearly more intended though. GG!
@@-Kiroshii- Yeah! That's actually my favorite CC map so far. It's purely a puzzle, and I was in the right level of operators to beat it with some finagle. Truly very well designed!
It's one if my favorites too! Back when I was a bad player who didnt know that you cant just throw 5 stars at everything and expect it to work, this was the first practice cc map I tried, and I struggled. But now, I came back and could do S rank with no help, so I felt really accomplished! Some of the other cc11 maps I still needed guides for though. I'm looking at you, Londinium Outskirts.
@@-Kiroshii- Oof, yeah Londinium Outskirts is just brutal if you don't have pure damage. Even with Amiya, that Manfred is still wrecking me. I don't want to look at the guides yet though.
F lmao. I use Vigil regularly ever since E2-ing him for laneholding, specifically S1. Currently trying to force him into every WB-EX stage (already used him on all normal WB stage). VIGIL SWEEP! Also S1 is occassionally better. Don't ever use S2 unless you really want him to VIGIL SWEEP KILL faster (if the dawg doesn't die faster)
He's a tragic operator indeed. Not a good look for the first free 6* from an event to be... inadequate at the very least. Weirdly enough, Penance who is canonically can't fight seem to be way stronger than him, who canonically is a mafia. You must have a lot of strong operators to help him, huh?
@@FeyHunt I'm a relativley new player so I don't have a lot of the strong cheat codes XD I only have Exu and Texalter, but I try my best not to use them often (especially blue woman mafia ver.) (Another example is Frostleaf) But using Vigil makes the game much more fun, which is what Arknights is all about: creating your own strategy and marvel at your ideas working. @@FeyHunt good thing he isn't the first welfare 6* then that honor goes to Gladiia (who in contrast is absolutely busted) :P I can see the confusion at least as he is the first 6* welfare for half-anni events specifically (Wild mane being 5*)
