I'm so excited to share with you our music video arrangement of the main theme from a very special episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation, "The Inner Light." If you haven't seen it yet, check out season 5 episode 25. I promise you will appreciate this song even more if you've watched one of the most moving episodes of this brilliant show, starring Sir Patrick Stewart as Captain Picard. It holds a very special place in my heart. (You don't even have to be familiar with the show to appreciate this episode; it's great as a standalone as well.)
The theme, originally composed by Jay Chattaway, features a gorgeous penny whistle solo, which zircon and I have transformed into the main vocal line of our arrangement, accented by many layers of background singing. I am especially proud of the lyrics I wrote for this one; you can find them below. 🙂 We filmed the video with our favorite director, Landon Donoho, socially distanced at a lovely state park here in Maryland. What a fitting song, for, "The Inner Light," one of the best episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation. The journey that Picard took when the probe made contact with him, be with him for the rest of his life. Within 20-25 minutes he lives a lifetime, had a wife and family. And after that he keeps and plays the flute, which he will cherish forever. Great job!😀😃❤🎼🎵🎶
The Inner Light is also my favorite TNG episode and I love the music of the Resikkan flute

I've never heard lyrics to that before, it was so beautiful. I can literally see Picard writing that about his experience. I hope you wrote that yourself because you made at least one big Picard fan happy! Not to mention the whole new perspective and depth you've given for that episode. That should be the cover for that whole experience and even he would say "make it so"! Very well done

I loved this from TNG, it speaks so much to the deep abiding love that develops in Jean-Luc for his wife. I loved the song and didn't realize there were words to it. The look on her face when Picard announced the project he wants to build is a nursery is a true picture of the relationship and love that has grown.

This is so beautiful. It brings the sadness, the despair and hope that this song has always brought to me. Haunting and wonderful all at the same time. I can't even begin to describe the overwhelming mixture of emotions it evokes. I imagine that anyone reading this will understand exactly what I mean.

‘The Inner Light’ has always been one of my favorite episodes in any of the Star Trek series and the orchestral arrangement never fails to bring a tear to my eye. This, however, absolutely takes it to the next level. The lyrics feel like they were always a part of it, and your amazing vocals make it even more hauntingly beautiful. You have a new fan here!

The Inner Light has been heralded as one of the most beautiful, emotional, and touching episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation. This song speaks so much for what it's about. I come from a faith that has a belief in a pre-mortal existence, in spirit. The Inner Light gives a deep connection to that spiritual life I believe we all once experienced, the mortal life we are living, and when the time comes to leave this life, we will discover how long we really were gone from that first life, as seen through heaven's eyes and heart, and that it was very short, while we still had a whole lifetime of memories to cherish. Thank you for sharing this incredibly heartfelt song that reflects on the most spiritual moment of Picard's life.

@JillianAversa I'm such a hard-core Star Trek fan that some of my first memories are seeing the original series in rerun in the 70s. Seeing the original Enterprise streaking across the screen still gives me chills. Yep, Uber Nerd. When I saw the video description as Inner Light with lyrics and knew there were no lyrics I was ready to jump all over this in the comments. But to be fair I listened first. So here's my review. Beautifully done. If there were lyrics from the show I can't imagine them being better than what you have done. Brings a tear to my eyes. Outstanding. I'm glad I stumbled across this and your songwriting and vocal talents. Thank you for this moving piece of musical artistry. It should become part of the official Star Trek universe.❤

I loved the ST:TNG "The Inner Light" episode. A lifetime of experiences in only a few minutes was mind blowing. Picard's flute song was nice when I heard it during the episode. I didn't think much of it back then. Decades later, I heard it as a background for the Star Trek 40th Anniversary Tribute. Between the images of 40 years of Star Trek and the beauty of the orchestral version of this song made me cry like a baby. I've already told the wife to play the orchestral version of The Inner Light at my funeral. Today, I heard your song with the lyrics. Good thing I was alone when I heard it because I cried at the beauty of your composition and the lyrics. Thank you so much for this wonderful and heartfelt version.

Hauntingly beautiful, and from the best Star Trek TNG episode ever... Also the song makes a comeback in Season 6 Lessons which has amazing piano as well. I at 71 would pay to have a copy of the video that I could play not having to rely on streaming.. To have a copy that I could play on my 4K tv in beautiful blu ray audio...
