      Sorry, but this is a terrible performance. Of course, as music in general it sounds beautiful but this is not a mazurka. Like someone rightly pointed out on here, he performed it like a nocturne. The ending wasn't even that obvious and, when he realised that, he held that last note on sustain until it felt less awkward to stop...

      @@chibaz8882 It's a thing to call it terrible. It maybe isn't performed how it is supposed to be, but that doesn't make it terrible.

      @@smikkelbeer6352 Fair dos. I mean terrible performance of a mazurka, not terrible performance in general. I enjoy listening to it, so don't mind it in that sense, but mazurka it is not - it was played like a lullaby and not a dance. Compare with Friedman, Rosenthal or Bunin and you'll see what I mean

      @@chibaz8882 Chopin Mazurkas aren't for dancing if you didn't know that. Chopin said it himself.

    • @chibaz8882
      @chibaz8882 3 года назад

      @@elias7748 where did I say it was supposed to be *for* dancing? I said it's more like a lullaby than a dance in the sense that many qualities of a mazurka dance, such as irregular rhythm and syncopation aren't there. And I believe your quote from Chopin was about Op. 7, not all his mazurkas.

    Lucas Jussen trifft sehr schön den "Chopin Ton", weicher und trotzdem kraftvoller Anschlag, wunderbare Agogik! Das langsame Tempo gefällt mir gut, junge Pianisten spielen ja heute meist leider viel zu schnell. Diese Mazurka ist ja eigentlich nur im kurzen Mittelteil eine "echte" Mazurka, ansonsten paßt schon der Vergleich mit den Nocturnes. Besonders schön finde ich die Aufnahme von Horowitz, der den Mazurkacharakter im Mittelteil sehr schön herausarbeitet. Aber wer möchte schon Horowitz mit einem so jungen , dennoch bereits außergewöhnlich großartigen Pianisten vergleichen. Hier der Horowitz: ruclips.net/video/3nXlh0O3mmU/видео.html
