    Chemist here. The active compound in tumeric that gives it the yellow color is curcumin.
    It is generally insoluble in water. However you might find success with alkaline mediums such as lye, which might be okay but is probably still a pain. Also, I'd not recommend this to clean food-related stuff.
    The curcumin should be quite soluble in organic solvents, so maybe try to soak the food processor with ethanol or rubbing alcohol and afterwards rinse with water

      Yes! I accidentally discovered if you clean up a tumeric oopsy almost the moment it happens with 91% rubbing alcohol, it will get up the stain every time(excluding cloth) It should be safe for washable food appliances because it's gone if you rinse everything well with hot water.

    I always use my blender/food processor to blend things like this...it really leaves a stain but it usually goes away on its own after a few days.. I don't use them everyday but I do notice the next time I'm using my blender it's clear of any yellow/red stain. All I do is wash them after use and leave it lol

    I remember once I was at my brothers house and I was washing the dishes and accidentally the spoon from the achaar left an orange stain (similar to haldi stain) on his white granite worktop. I was so apologetic when I realised it wasn't wiping away. He told me not to panic and sprayed the stain with kitchen cleaner, we have something called Mr Muscle over here in the UK. The stain changed colour to a sort of red, he wiped it with a sponge and it disappeared. I even tried it on my counter tops at home after that and it removed all the old stains from where the wooden spoon had been put down whilst cooking.
    However, I have never tried it on plastic appliances.

    Give the trusty, old baking soda and vinegar a try. Sometimes, when you think it'll turn out fruitless, it actually works. So, use those two and leave it aside for a while, then scrub it with warm soapy water and rinse.

    If the stain is fresh and on your counter or floor, get hot water and/or 91% Rubbing alcohol on it IMMEDIATELY. If you procrastinate, good luck. If a large amount of the powder spills on your floor, the only thing you can do is vacuum it up as fast as you can and start using bleach or comet. If your floor can handle it while praying it comes up. If you get it on cloth, you're screwed. It's the only substance I know to stain pure black. However, my ex claims it will eventually come out in 10 washes or so. The best course of action is when handling tumeric or anything with tumeric in/on it is: Handle with extreme care, get whatever it touches in the dish water immediately or jump on a spill/accident the second it happens. Also, keep a black towel handy as stains are a little less noticeable.

    You can use soap to emulsify it or baking soda (Sodium Bicarbonate) for hydrolyzing it

  • @SauravThakur-gh2es
    @SauravThakur-gh2es 5 месяцев назад

    Washing soda, also known as sodium carbonate, can be effective in removing color from certain substances. The color is mostly soluble in alkali, which allows the washing soda solution to dissolve and remove it. Soaking the item in a cold solution of washing soda can be sufficient, and leaving it overnight can enhance the results.
    Bleach treatments are another method for removing color from materials. Bleach works by bleaching the color, but it is also strongly alkaline due to the addition of caustic soda (sodium hydroxide). This alkalinity further aids in breaking down and removing the color.
    In summary, soaking in a solution of washing soda or treating with bleach can help remove color from various substances due to their alkalinity and ability to dissolve or bleach the color.

    bleach works the best!! in my Jamaican household we make curry chicken and fhe stains from pot cover when we makes it allways end up on the countertops and other utensils. we usually have a soap bottle that we fill like 1/3 or 1/2 bleach and fill the rest with water to dilute it. it even works on the plastic Tupperware because you'll see rhe bleach lift the yellow stains off the container and you can use regular dawn dish soap to help take the rest off.
