from 54:10 on he told a story about a single limited to 400 copies by a guy name "johnny machine" ? can someone tell what it is coz i listened to this a hundred times and i just cant get it.
+Nuo Xu I think he says "you know he was in "I Died Fucking" (band name?)" but all of that could be made up (there are two musicians named Johnny Machnine and one of them does seem like the type (art-rock & grunge, late eighties) but no mention of I Died Fucking
+mastersoftoday wow thank you for your answer. im so obsessed in james murphy's music and i wanted so much to know what he listened to. so, thank u again for your help.
ive been to and hosted a rake of house shows and none of us in the underground ever drink red bull. that stuff is for the big cheesey shit clubs, along with commercial trance music. and bodybuiler drunken jocks
I could listen to this guy talk for hours & hours.............
Almost as wonderful as listening to him sing!
in a world without zoom... one man... will remain very hard to see.
I absolutely LOVE how close the camera zooms in! Just love it!
The Disco record with the conga loop he talks about is 'At Midnight' - T-Connection
5:47 ahah I actually have that organ sitting in my music room, I love the drums
he sometimes sounds like louie C.K
clélie Bigo I was thinking the same thing. He also tells funny stories in a kind of similar way.
It doesn’t surprise he was almost a professional comedic writer
this is such a great interview, james murphy is hilarious.
Awesome interview. I really enjoyed it.
Thanks so much for this upload!!
