There’s definitely a difference in sampling samples from back then used to make you want to discover the original track it would give you just enough to get you interested now you immediately recognize the sample because the whole track is playing in the background it’s not a beat it’s not the treble it’s not the baseline it’s the whole song. Even when the R&B hits Re sung songs you really didn’t know the song they was re-singing off top because of the different stylization.

I watch this podcast because DCMWG your intelligence, common sense and analytical skills exceed people I meet at that top. They have book sense but no common sense. What Phelps is describing is called a cover. When an artist remakes an entire song as Whitney did with I Will Always Love You. What Dontcallmewhitegirl is describing is simply using a sample (a beat/chorus/snippet) and using it to create a new song vs young artists not having the creativity to mix it. Phelps often argues moot points.

Yes, the rumor is he was messing with one of the cops babymother(they worked at FedEx together). Supposedly, he was stopped for reckless driving, which the chief said thats a lie. So it was an illegal stop in the first place. One of the cops went to his mothers home around the corner, saying he was tazed and taken in for drunk driving. That she couldn't come see him in the hospital. Their story was everywhere it was bound to crumble. They were yelling oh he trying to grab my gun, etc,but if the rumor is true, this was premeditated.. They been doing this ish but no one passed away. If it weren't for the cameras on the poles that were placed there for civilian surveillance, they probably would have tried to get out of this. I would hope they didn't ruin their lives over another mfs vagina. Ignorant asf. RIP T. NICHOLS

I said it was probably personal as soon as I heard about it. The scary thing is the baby daddy cop probably threatened his ex before telling her he had the power to do this if she dated anyone else. And maybe she didn't take him seriously. But I agree they've done this before. I can't imagine how scary it would be to date a cop in your own town knowing they could harm you or anybody associated with you as a "routine stop" and get away with it.

Think about it Xscape first album was straight sample songs, MJB my life album had sample full songs, bad boy records did a lot of samples. I think we are more musically aware because of the era we come from, but I will agree these young joins have no real creativity because on some samples it took us a minute to realize what song it was back then because the mixed it so well

This is why I will forever watch your show! I have the same opinion as far the Tyre Nichols situation. No, I did not watch the video and I don't plan too. I hate the fact that this happened to this young man. But it was also sickening how fast the Black officers were arrested, fired w/ the Body cam and their photos released. The men are guilty now before trial. It is a fact they were wrong they committed a heinous crime. But if they were white right now today, we would be hearing all kinds of stories as to why they are working to get the body cam & photos released. We probably wouldn't see the body cam until after the trial. Again, I'm sorry this happened to the young man for no reason. The officers being black is like they are throwing it in our face like look they are cops and they look like you... this was handled totally different because they were Black. Justice will for sure be served!!
