  • In this video Scott shows you how to check your wiring on your 1x12 guitar speaker cabinet. If you got a new cabinet or just forgot which wire is positive and which is negative, these two methods will help you. It will also help determine if your speaker is wired out of phase by using a 9-volt battery.
    Scott Used a VBoutique Vumble Cabinet, Celestion Gold Speaker, 9-Volt Batter, and Fluke Multimeter.

    I never knew how to do that until now. Especially with black and white. Thanks for a simple quick video.

    Yooo thanks for the battery tip I just turned my shitty Line 6 Spider Jam into a 1x12 cab and I was super worried about if I did the wiring correctly.

    Very helpful. My issue is I have an old Peavey 4X10 or 4X12, and I need to check why it has this screaming sound when my amp is plugged into it. Same processes?

      Yes to determine the positive and negative

    The speaker wires inside the cabinet seem very small for such a high quality speaker? Does larger wire have any better sound benefit? Great video. Thanks!

      The lower the number of gauge... the thicker the wire. Most people like to be at 12 AWG.

    Great video tips man , it's the way to do . Is it the Marshall Origin you've got there Scott ?

    • @sillennium
      @sillennium  5 лет назад +1

      Claude Disnard no that is the Marshall class 5. Love that amp especially on the celestion gold with the vumble cab you see here from vboutique

    Nice video, man thanks a lot!!! I would like to know if the tip of the cable is always positive? I have the speakes set up on the cab ready to rock (Parallel connection) but i have this issue on the wiering. Cheers!!!

      I believe so but i don't wire this stuff often so that's why i use this trick to make sure it is all good

    None of the connections on my speakers are labelled positive or negative. Is positive always the first connection clockwise (when you are facing the back of the speaker)?

    • @sillennium
      @sillennium  Год назад

      I don't think it is always the same

    I have the wire colours as you have here but get the speaker popping back. Does that mean they’ve reversed the wiring colours?

    Great video. Will the speaker still work if it’s wired incorrectly?

    • @sillennium
      @sillennium  4 года назад +1

      Yes, it will but if it is paired with any other speakers you will phase issues. If it is the only speaker then you wouldn't know the difference

    If my speaker is wired incorrectly will I hear the difference?

      You would for sure if you have two speakers, one right and one wrong

    Scott what is the recommended awg wire size to use to wire the jack to the speaker? Is 22 awg sufficient? Thanks

    • @sillennium
      @sillennium  3 года назад

      Thicker the better. It carries a current online a guitar cable. I ran 12awg in my walls.
