It's not safe. These fuckers were idiots. Trying to use a bomber, not enough DPS, no real strategy, didn't land their BSes correctly (why would they even be using bses is also an issue), failing to kill done, setting around in a pod.... I can't list all the tactical errors here.
They deserved to die. My Corp would trash them.

I've played this game since 2005. I've been in countless skirmishes, fleet battles and plain old ganks, and this is still the funniest and possibly most unbelievable clusterfuck I have witnessed.

A tailsman neut straits is fucking amazing. One of the only things that can take you down (from what I have seen) is a REALLY good curse with a pilot that isn't stupid.
Returning player after ten years, basically back to being a newbro. This was genuinely inspiring.
Ok, I have to say congratulations to this engagement and its outcome. Pulling off something like this is one of the best experiences in the game. I still remember and cherish the moment I managed to clear a gate camp alone. You feel like a badass hero after something like this, right? Good hunt!

this is clearly old video, i bet its when Stratios was released... and was OP in the start? not sure.
you can clearly see what went wrong in their fight, speed problems.. + warp-in distance was fail ...

similar thing happened to me today... was scoutingh for a hauling friened, T2 Phantasm catched me and decloaked me with ECc Hornets...
i didnt even bother shooting back in Sunesis... and didnt pull drones out ... at like around 50% armor, looked like he cant actually do enough dmg, so i just mwd'ed into wh entrance and went to highsec ; ))
i was sure T2 Cruiser can just crush a destroyer... seems those low-skill req Jove ships are better than i thought..

I would like to point out that Chance's ship is fully optimized, both in Skills and Modules, and fitted specifically for PvP encounters. An analogy would be that one screwdriver is better to remove a screw than 8 hammers.

I say in the video that the Scorpion doesn't do anything, but you can tell it jams me at several points, both after the Griffin is dead and at times like 5:35 where it jams me over the half-cycled Griffin jams.
What was your fit?
Yeah I think the jams were mostly the scorp, as the griff only had multispec's and I wouldn't expect those to hit that often.
You would be surprised how nasty the griffin jams are.
The is one vid from Mr Hyde were he had massive ECCM bonus on a battleship ( can't recall what bs he was flying ) and he got permajamed by a griffin for 90% of the fight.
'Perma' means permanent not 90% it is 100% cant have that now can we

The best part is the "gotta kill this thing, what is that? kill that thing over there..." Clearly has no Idea and is still wrecking shit. I love it. Every now and then I get the itch to play again. reminds me of my old corp's first pvp, we had to use our battleship to mine the rocks we needed in lowsec and had a fleet of 4-5 "combat" ships, we lost to a single vexor (but we got the ores out and could finally build what we wanted for the month :D)

Awesome! I can only imagine what the disbelief and frustration in their fleet chat.
Based on the flow of the battle, you should have stayed and kill the rest of the gang AND retrieve the drones I would say that would have made one of the best EVE PVP videos of the year!
Well you never know how this would turn out. They might have called for backup seeing they couldn't take him down. So he might have been a minute away from disaster. Anyways, he had no reason to stay unless he wanted to "make a statement".
Exactly. It's totally common to see uncalled for hot drops on pinned targets. If they keep coming, it's cause someone range the dinner bell. And that can be heard throughout a 30 corp alliance through info comlinks in a matter of minutes.
Thomas Kimmel IMO, Chance made the right call in GTFOing. The last Stratios that entered the fight was the same pilot as the bait Astero. If Chance kept engaging, then the other pilots that got destroyed but not podded would have enough time to come back with fresh ships.

A shining example of overwhelming numbers and superior ships are nothing without skills. That was too funny.
I noticed they had few webs too. You'd of thought in a Fleet of 8+ ships, they would all have sufficient tackle of them.
WaveForceful well, depends on the fleet set up. In my corps fleets, we often run initial light tackle, followed by heavy tackle, followed by blistering DPS. I usually run a DPS ship, but also always have at least one form of tackle, be that a web or a scram.

could you explain what is happening for a new player?
Okay so here's the simplest way to explain it.
I was in wormhole space (the most dangerous security area, with no cops or local chat), and I found an Astero (a kind of weak, but expensive, scanning ship). I thought attacking it might be a trap, but I decided to attack it anyway in the hopes of killing an expensive ship.
As I start engaging it, 8 of the Astero's friends start appearing. It was a trap and they had been waiting nearby to pounce on me. In most situations you can imagine 8v1 you will die very very fast. I was expecting to die, but I wanted to waste their time and maybe kill 1 of them to cost them something for the attack.
Anyway, as I start running away it turns out none of them have a webifier (a module to slow me down) so instead they are forced to chase me in a big conga line. They use electronic warfare modules to disable my sensors (and prevent me from locking them or directly attacking them) but my Stratios cruiser has a lot of drones, and my drones were set to automatically attack. So while I am flying "blind" they are just ripping up everyone chasing me.
The people chasing me were trying to stop me from warping so they dropped those big bubble spheres, warp interdiction bubbles. The thing was, it also prevented them from warping. So when my drones started killing them they could not run away and basically they all just started dying... lol!
The "Curse" ship attacking me was using Energy Neutralizers, modules that eat up your capacitor. Normally this would disable a ship very quickly, but I was lucky and happened to have two large capacitor batteries that make it very hard to neutralize you. This was SUPER lucky because this was an experimental fit for my ship that very few people use. Basically it is the only reason I lived.
So in the end their mistakes + my luck + keeping the repairs and other modules balanced + good drones meant they all died and I finally was able to escape!

Awesome man! I haven't played EVE for over 4 maybe 5 years and even tho' I didn't recognize all the ships that bought a smile to the dial, can't believe they left your drones alone... can see why they're violently optimistic. I LOL'd so hard... Hammer Head II's FTW!

I did it when I first saw this video when he made it years ago, I still have the exact ship. Was a very expensive fit, over a billion isk but its lived through so many gank attempts its funny. I named it "My Weekend Car".
I still come back to your videos from time to time. I haven't played Eve in years, and I know you sold Wingspan a while ago, and I believe quit the game as well, but your videos are still entertaining as hell.

Today I learned about cap batteries. Neut was the only reason I was avoiding any active tank ships.

This is one of the only videos of mine that I ever re-watch. I probably have only 2-3 videos per video game I've made that I really personally love. I still remember exactly what this felt like, screaming like a maniac at 1AM while other people are trying to sleep because of the HYPE.

I had this video recommended to me, didn't understand a single bit of what i've watched ( I have no knowledge about EVE, but YT still delivers such vids to my recommendations? Bruh.). Drones? More drones? Where is that 8-pilot fleet? All i see are bubbles and red/green points!
This is too confusing for me :/
A drone is a remote controlled robot that fights for you, some ships in EVE online can launch them (my ship had them too, which is how I was able to fight even when my sensors were disabled).
The ships are normally visible but I zoomed out to get a better view of where the enemy ships were in relation to mine. In EVE some ships can fight at up to 100km or more away.
Basically, wingspanTT was exploring and came upon another explorer in a smaller ship that looked like bait. Still, he attacked. Turns out it was bait, 8 buddies show up, but they can't manage to break the active repair (tank) of Sir Chance Ravine, and don't target his drones, which is pretty stupid considering it is his only means of attack, and that they have jammers to prevent him to lock onto anything. So he killed most of them and escape.
These guys were noobs. They brought battleships, which is *TWO* classes higher than what Wingspan had (cruiser), and still he wrecked them. There is no excuse for them.
I noticed as well that only one ship had a web. You'd of though all of their tackle would have webs. Thats one of the many reasons they failed. Also I too have no idea why a bomber that has over 3000 alpha was trying to tackle a drone boat at 7km range, thats just asking to be blown away. I bet you were loving this though WingspanTT.

Just got ganked today for the first time and it went similar to this. But the ones I almost killed warped out (I had a pve fit) and once the warp scram was off I ran.

n00b here, can you explain which drones you use and why? i know they're t2 and all, but why the warriors over hobs? hammerhead over another? also, why in the quantities you have?
shimmytango really depends. For medium drones I go for max damage and reliable damage type. Speed and tracking don't matter because I intend to have cruiser targets scrammed and webbed. For lights I prefer warriors because they are fast enough to catch and track drones or kitey frigates I can't get into web range. Heavy drones I prefer Geckos but they weren't available in the market when I fit the ship for this journey. Quantities I aim to have an extra set of lights and mediums in case they get killed or abandoned. For heavy and sentry they're big so I just bring like one extra each.

Can you explain how you are scanning , if ships see your probes they will leave ... or you scan and camp for hours ?
Considering their Astero was a bait ship, they probably didn't even care when they saw my probes. But I had scanned down this site a few minutes before she came into system.

How did you have enough CPU for that fit? As of this moment (2/27/17) that fitting seems to require over 600 CPU, but I only get about 525.
