Ya I'll admit, I am surprised how anyone can make it to the Finals by instincts and basic skill like that at all~ especially if they're not even that much of a major player of that game.
@@thessk_1 yeah I think he was just playing bad in general. Throwing fireballs at point blank range, dropping combos, not punishing blocked supers at point blank range. Idk what happened tbh.
That's true, KoF13 looks pretty intimidating compared to VF. I was able to pick up VF5FS pretty easily but KoF's timing looks really crazy considering how fast the game is.
KoF13 is still an AMAZING game, one of my favourites! And it looks so damn good... All those beautyful and expensive sprite work almost led to SNK's second bankrupcy, that's the reason why they switched to not so intiminating but still good looking 3D models.
Wow, I love watching KoF like he said. "Honest Fighting games." ftw. Lol. None of this one character being so uber you have to pick him or a counter or don't play at a competitive level.
always thought the high damage combos make sense just like they do in MVC3. You get 3 characters Your meter carries over to the other characters. If you lose the first round you technically have a advantage in the second if your opponent used meter to finish you off. As the commentators say, if you drop a combo you lose all your meter. 1 bar hypers really don't do a whole lot of damage. Your better off saving meter for that big combo, IF you can pull it off. High Risk / Reward
@mrbignerd Needs more thumbs up. Everything this man said is true.

for me, justin wong, is one of the few gamers who are good at playing more than one game. An example are the titles he has won in SSFIV, MVC2, MVC3 ... etc. .. but you have to give merit! was defeated by .. .. as for my point and seen, is the best Saiki .. Reinald .. definitely is a master in the kof .. but for me this was the first time I see Justin play KOF .. and I think that will be the last ... XD ..
@polarity55 HD bar gives you an overwhelming advantage regardless of your position, very hard is very relative when some characters get near 80% with little to no meter though the meter just makes it easier. HD bar also refreshes increasing the chance of getting to use it twice, and effort is equally relative since the mix up game is very different in both games. They're both powerful mechanics, and while HD is certainly more balanced of the two it is by no means good.
Your're right Final Showdown is awesome and all, but I found it much harder in kof to grasp all of the mechanics and sub-systems; probably because the last snk game I played was fatal fury 2 on the genesis
@mrbignerd I fell ya all day... I'm a huge KOF fan and I am a top 20 tourny player and seeing this makes me fell all fuzzy inside 4real. True combo expertise and skill indeed. NO BULLSHIT!!!! P.S luv Ash and Leona in this game... hell I play everyone or at least try 2 X3 NEST Kyo 4 life
@SDSOverfiend He hasnt even been playing the game all the long. It's an accomplisment he made it that far, shows his prowess for fighting games. He's good, and he'll be better when he gets a hold of the combos.
that's in accurate kof 94 to 98 were on the ps1, 99 to kof 11 were on the ps2 and 12 and 13 on the 360, but i must say these new versions 12 and 13 are much easier to play as oppose to the old version and should probably get them
It IS true the game DOES hold him back If he were to play this seriously, his combos would be sick NASTY I'm more than sure he would choose Kyo as one of his team, if he were to play
KOF is a Combo game ,this is why that is more difficult than street fighter. Also play KOF must to use Rocker pad because wrist is easier than thumb to make combos.
@Renrussian Of course I do, that doesn't matter at a competitive level. Maybe if everyone was as good as me (as in not very) the skill level of these combos would make a huge difference, but it's largely irrelevant to how balanced the mechanic is in tournament play. We both know X-factor gives powerful benefits to noobs and pros alike, but just because HD mode doesn't give noobs an instant win doesn't make it balanced either. Did you not read what I posted earlier?
no .. coz its so hard to land combos in this game that if they had included breakers .. it would frustrating for combo users - I think its a good think
@Juggernaut2k12 He really is talented at getting real good at every fighting game. In no time he'll be performing better kof combos just watch. I give mad props to Wong for getting to the finals in a game he barely started playing.
Now this game right here is AMAZING, right up there with 3rd Strike. I just REALLY hope SNK doesn't release a new KOF title soon, it'll ruin the potential of this game that has so much to offer. This KOF release feels like a Street Fighter 2 in the sense that if it stands alone for another year it'll grow more and more. I also believe that this title could possibly become more popular than SUPER Street Fighter 4.
Listen carefully... 0:49 - 1:17 So I answered my own question. The dude plays practice mode. So ppl are hating that practice mode + experience = almost winning a major, I guess? Just think about that, ya'll and stop hating.
This is exactly true. KOF has never been big in the US. It's always been extremely niche. This is likely due to the fact that arcades were already weak in the 90's and SNK never produced ports of KOF to the SNES like Capcom did with SF2. Hell, there wasn't even a KOF on Playstation 1.
agreed vf5 is the most gentlementlike game out there haha its super balanced and no ultra or x factor nonsense... you want a comeback you hit the other guy back
Ya I'll admit, I am surprised how anyone can make it to the Finals by instincts and basic skill like that at all~ especially if they're not even that much of a major player of that game.
I love how they were hyping Justin up at the end and then he gets blown up lmao

We need a re-release with rollback netcode. Also it still looks awesome. EDIT: Gentlemen, we got it!!!

Alright let’s play it now 👀

J Wong tried to play in street fighter style, that's why he lost badly.
Not necessarily true

those commentators speaking 200 words a minute, ooh if i could only mute them without muting the fight
Yeah-yeah-yeah, ha-ha-ha
Reynald SOO good!!

He baited the hell outta that DP, and destroyed Justin on the punish!
Major props.

I enjoy the commentators' enthusiasm, but it's distracting trying to follow what they're saying. They're all over the place.
theyr annoying
How did Justin wong make it to the finals
FGC tournament video should implement dual audio
one without the commentary would be nice
Seeing Art get hyped for Kof13 sure feels nostalgic. He never plays it.

Am i the only one that doesn't like watching full matches without commentators? They make it more enjoyable.
So I'm assuming Justin dropped this game after EVO 2011? I didn't seem him playing it this year.
This game is fantastic. Nice to see Justin Wong doing well on this.
Your're right Final Showdown is awesome and all, but I found it much harder in kof to grasp all of the mechanics and sub-systems; probably because the last snk game I played was fatal fury 2 on the genesis
Justin Wong's face at the end was priceless. MAD SALTY Lmao.
hats off to Justin though. Not having much knowledge in the game still did pretty good.
Last Round: Reynald is about to blow Justin up
Jesus, he literally blew him up
That Kyo is A-W-E-S-O-M-E, really the best I've seen in years! No chance in hell for Justin, who saw the MAX CANCEL coming @9:28?
DAMN WTF?! I look away for a second in the last match and Kyo won. DAMNNN!
Hope they make a KOF with hd sprites someday.
Game doesn't compare to many previous KOF titles. Great match all the same!!
@mrbignerd I fell ya all day... I'm a huge KOF fan and I am a top 20 tourny player and seeing this makes me fell all fuzzy inside 4real. True combo expertise and skill indeed. NO BULLSHIT!!!! P.S luv Ash and Leona in this game... hell I play everyone or at least try 2 X3 NEST Kyo 4 life
really the guy made plenty of comebacks he may not be that great in kof13 but he is a legend in mvc and street fighter for sure
awesome match
@TempestDacine
Do you have ANY idea how hard it is to pull of a combo like this? You act as if you can derp your opponent to death like with X-Factor.
I WISH THIS HYPE APPLIES ONLINE. been a fan of every single KOF but the online experience just breaks my heart
9:16 that round was absurd, one anti air, overhead into combo, 85% damage... Kyo was at a singleplayer mode at that point
i've never seen this game b4 i just wanna see how good justin is at it
Could anyone tell me all about the KOFXIII game derby?
I love the game, but I only know EVO,and I wanna watch more and more video.
The game looks fun! Very different to see it from lame gameplay videos to a TOURNAMENT with good players! Now I'm interested in it :)
Everytime i watch KOF commentary the commentators hardly talk about the fight
@SDSOverfiend He hasnt even been playing the game all the long. It's an accomplisment he made it that far, shows his prowess for fighting games. He's good, and he'll be better when he gets a hold of the combos.
@Archdukejames they took out kof 99 for the ps1 don't know wat year though
so idk anything bout this game, but are those corner combos infinites? or is the defending players failing to do something?
that's in accurate kof 94 to 98 were on the ps1, 99 to kof 11 were on the ps2 and 12 and 13 on the 360, but i must say these new versions 12 and 13 are much easier to play as oppose to the old version and should probably get them
What's the name of the stage music please tell me
What controller are they using?
I think they're using those arcade joy pad things
It IS true the game DOES hold him back

I'm more than sure he would choose Kyo as one of his team, if he were to play
Sick finish at 2:48!
Kyo last combo is just pure baddass. Reynald is really a skilled KOF player indeed.
One video isn't indicative of them all, there are plenty of KOF tournaments with great "play-by-play" commentary going on.
What about that 2:24 , 5:00 and 9:15
I missed this on stream, Thanks Sp00ky
y dont u use the analog?
Oh hell yeah KOF for the KOF gods
good job justin greetings from tijuana baja california
I think Reynald spent months to learn combos with Mai just so he had a reason to pick her for other than the obvious xD
2:45 EPIC finish!
@Juggernaut2k12 Justin has strong fundamentals, not to mention he has played earlier KOFs.
You don't have to put down other games to state that KOF's gameplay is great.
so who won the korean?
KOF is a Combo game ,this is why that is more difficult than street fighter. Also play KOF must to use Rocker pad because wrist is easier than thumb to make combos.
Who's the haggard woman behind wong?
@Renrussian Of course I do, that doesn't matter at a competitive level. Reynald is so freaking sick!
I might have to get this lol. Anyone got any advice? It would be my first KoF game.
@Juggernaut2k12 He really is talented at getting real good at every fighting game. In no time he'll be performing better kof combos just watch. I give mad props to Wong for getting to the finals in a game he barely started playing.
Yeah he has started performing better combos now in 2021.
@GS3679
He doesn't play KOF 2002 maybe is too much for him?
Most rewarding game I have ever played........skills-wise
@raxzar yes but KoF had rolling and dashing.I love running around the place but in terms of solid gameplay I do feel 3rd Strike was the best.
Kula: Dammit Wong. I haven't suffer this naby DM's subce KOF 2000.
Serious note, both players were good.
Estos si son combos y no pendejadas de maquinitas!!! Felicidades Pinche PAQUIAO que los videojuegos XD
These dudes are clearly on two different levels of play... Reynald is obviously the better player hands down.
10 second rounds are awesome
This game needs a real port to PC, with good netcode and in Steam it would be one of the most bought games
excellent playing from both players
amazing combo Kyo

protip: there is a little volume thing next to the pause/play button. if you press it, the sound becomes muted.
why so much "yeah"? pls tell me...
Gotta love Mai's neutral stance
