I really miss the hell out of this place. My mom used to run the old Horizon Motor Inn on 4th Avenue right by Asbury Lanes and the old Baronet theater. So many places that we all remember in Asbury Park near the water now gone, including Palace, both said places I mentioned earlier, and many others. We will never forget the old Asbury Park from before the 1990s

Those memories will forever live in my heart. I spent most weekends there in the mid 80's with my mom. I love you Tilly ❤

When I roamed the streets of Asbury Park in the early 60's as a teenager, Tillie scared me to death because of his frightening smile. Now when I see what has become of my old dating and cruising wonderland, a tear comes to my eye when I see old Tillie. I long for the days when I would drive to Asbury Park to see a movie with my best girl and walk the wooden boardwalk for hours.

This video broke my heart. I went there frequently back in the 60s on schools and church trips. I even met a 'summer romance there'...a boy who worked at Palace Amusements. We spent one glorious day together! I will never forget those days and it makes me so sad and angry that it was all left to go to hell. I miss Tillie and the wonderful 'glory' days that was Asbury Park!!

I FELL IN LOVE WITH THE PALACE AMUSEMENTS AT AGE 6 AND RODE MY BELOVED PALACE CVAROUSEL WITH ITS CHARM AND CHERUBS AND JEWELED HORSES FOR YEARS, OVER AND OVER. WHENEVER I HEAR A CERTAIN CAROUSEL MUSICAL SELECTION(I REMEMBER THEM ALL) MY HEART BECOMES LIGHT AND HAPPY AND I AM BACK THERE ,WHERE I HAD NO CARES ,WORRIES AND WAS IN MY OWN WORLD ON THAT CAROUSEL.. . THIS PLACE WILL REMAIN IN MY HEART FOREVER.ITS A CRYING SHAME THEY TORE IT ALL DOWN FOR DAMNED CONDOS. SHAME ON ALL OF THEM

i spent much time here as a kid scaring the hell outta people in the funhouse, riding the oriental express, riding the ferris wheel day and nights, loved the palace casion and both merry go rounds, in the 90s and early 2000s i explored the ruins many many times, i was there the day they took it apart and went inside for the last time

Ah, the arcade and the pinball machines. I lost many a nickel playing Number 6, "Frustration," on "Hayburners."

What a Shit House Asbury Park has become. Not the same one I remember from the 1950's and 1960's. The Atlantic Ocean should just reclaim what's left of that place and leave nothing behind except the sand.

I agree! Every structure in Asbury Park including the boardwalk needs to be demolished and rebuilt, otherwise it will just be a city by the sea. It doesn't even look like a shore community.
